tripadvisorTake your time and catch all of the nuances in the variety of painting, messages, history, etc. We loved it and honestly, loved the utility boxes throughout the city painted as well. Gave us a great impression of Boise as visitors. It's free, felt quite safe and is best for all ages. There were a few other people walking through when we were there and some workers from adjacent businesses. Don't miss this cultural gem.
MoreWent through here a couple times, once each way. Saw different artwork each time; some I saw again, but differently. It's a great little stroll to see some fabulous artwork and individuality. Grab a coffee at a nearby local coffee shop and stroll through. For me, less than half an hour each time... and it's free!
MoreThis is a nice place to visit - it is always open! The murals are nice. It is not a big exhibit soI would say 30-40 minutes to stroll and look.
MoreWhen planning a weekend getaway to Boise, we noticed Freak Alley mentioned as a must-see point of interest in downtown. But since graffiti isn't really a priority during our travels, we dismissed the stellar ratings and made other plans. And then, while walking in Boise, we accidentally stumbled into Freak Alley. And we are so glad that we did! This isn't just graffiti. It's stunning artwork and you're completely immersed in it! The thoroughly covered bricks down the alley and around the corner on every square inch wall space is simply incredible. And while most works of graffiti are tarnished by even more graffiti on top of that, this artwork remains pristine and unblemished. Definitely add this to your list.
MoreWe were staying in downtown Boise and decided to check this out. Very interesting area with neat artwork. Very safe area to walk around. Grab a coffee somewhere and check out the art.
