tripadvisorGreat sunrises on Corpus side of Port Aransas ! For the most part beaches had little debris but seaweed was heavy. Found a few shells in tack. Many seagulls along the shores. Wear and reapply sunscreen and …enjoy God’s creation !
MoreNorth Beach turned out to be the best option for us because we didn't want to sit on the beach with cars, and McGee beach (the only other beach that doesn't allow cars on the sand) had a little too much trash on it. North Beach had some rocks or concrete imbedded in the sand and I stubbed my toe on them a few times. The sand is course and the beach is not very deep, but it looked like the city kept it clean. There are showers and parking.
MoreThe beach is wonderful. Many hotels with beachfront access and restaurants as well. The beach is free and pet-friendly. Recommend for families.
MoreI live here. I am a local. I see all the reviews and should add some local knowledge. North beach isn’t big. It is tiny. It isn’t where we locals go to have fun at the beach. The sand on north beach is course. It’s larger. North beach is for tourists that go to the Lexington or aquarium and want to stop real quick to show their kids the “beach”.Me and my kiddo frequently stop at north beach on our way home after a day of shopping. Just to feed the seagulls and take our shoes off to stand in the water and see how cold it is. We usually stay there for no more than 20 minutes and then go home. We frequently go to the “real beach”…on beach days.JP Luby, North or south of the pakery channel. You can park on that beach. As close to the water as you want. The sand is powder soft. And it’s miles and miles long. I surf. And that’s where I go to surf also. We rarely go to the beach on Port Aransas….because they have it blocked off and you cannot park by the water. You have to walk to the water from your vehicle. Years ago, you could park at the water in that beach, but not anymore. Tourists go to that beach a lot bc it’s “the island”. We don’t go to the beach in Rockport either. It has been too commercialized. The sand is very course and it just feels fake. I saw one review of someone that drove 3 hours and went to north beach! Hahahaha! Do your research! North beach isn’t for a beach day! It’s for stopping real quick so you can tell your kids you went.A good tourist beach is on shoreline blvd/ocean drive. Is it called “waters edge park?” I think it is. You park at the park and walk over the sea wall and down to the ocean. If you aren’t going to go to the “real beach”….but want a better beach hang North Beach, go to Water’s Edge park. It’s the next best beach. Or should I say, “beach”.Don’t come visit corpus and go to north beach and think you saw the beach. Bc you didn’t. I hope this helps.
MoreNorth Beach offered a quaint and charming seaside experience during our visit. While the beach itself was smaller than what we’re accustomed to, the perfect weather made our time there enjoyable. However, beyond the USS Lexington museum and aquarium, which we regrettably didn’t have a chance to explore, there seemed to be limited attractions or activities in the immediate vicinity. Nonetheless, it provided a lovely spot for a leisurely stroll and some relaxation by the water.
