Denver Trolley Guided Tours

A relaxing and fun way to check out some of Denver's most popular sights, including the Children's Museum and Colorado's Ocean Journey, is by taking the Platte Valley Trolley Tour. The early 19th century trolley offers half-hour and hour narrated sightseeing expeditions and informative historical tidbits on the area. You can catch the trolley at a variety of stops, but the beginning of the journey at Confluence Park and 15th Street, or the Children's Museum parking lot is the best option. Hours are seasonal; check the website for more details.

We're Denver locals, so we thought the trolley might be a fun way to enjoy a Sunday morning with our toddler. For two adults and a toddler, $14 total was reasonable for a 25-minute ride. The trolley itself is beautifully restored and truly a sight to see. We won't be returning, however, because the sex trafficking jokes in the tour script were a bit too much. Corny, even crude jokes are usually a fun, welcome addition to a historic tour. But references to Michael Jackson and child trafficking at the Children's Museum were way too overboard.Recommendation: Head over to the Colorado Railroad Museum in Golden for a longer train ride, more history, educated volunteers, and plenty more to see!

Nice little train ride. Doesn’t really go very far and is kinda expensive for what it is. You may enjoy the Colorado Train Museum in Golden.

I like trains and trolleys. This was a short, 25 minutes, out and back. Some Denver history and bad jokes on the way.

Worth doing to rest your feet, take in some sights along the river, and hear some really corny jokes. Be aware that it only makes stops southbound, but you can hop aboard at any location.

This makes for a nice family outing as well as a different and fun way to get to the Denver Aquarium and Denver Children's Museum. The staff was very friendly and seems to accommodate well to people with special needs. The tour guide's narratives were engaging. We thought it this was well worth the price and nicely matched to other attractions.
