We have visited an American Girl store and restaurant at another location in the past, and our experience was wonderful, so we were really looking forward to bringing our girls to the Nashville location—especially because we drove four hours and stayed in Nashville specifically for our daughter’s birthday. The restaurant itself was very cute, and the setup was exactly what you would expect from American Girl. Unfortunately, the actual experience did not live up to what we had experienced at another location. Our biggest disappointment was the service. Our waitress only came to our table about three times during the entire experience, and even when we asked for things, it often seemed like we were inconveniencing her. There was very little interaction with the girls, which was disappointing because the whole point of an American Girl Tea Time experience is supposed to be something special and memorable for children. It took over 40 minutes just for someone to come take our food order. By that point, the girls were getting bored and losing interest. We paid approximately $280, and we absolutely don’t mind spending that amount when we’re paying for a special experience for our children. Unfortunately, this experience did not feel worth the price. After we finished our finger foods, we went into the store and stood near the doll hair salon. I honestly didn’t realize that an appointment was required to have a doll’s hair done. We were simply standing there because we had a question. One of the employees behind the counter looked at us and asked if we had an appointment. I politely said, “No ma’am.” She responded that it would be hours before we could get anything done. The way she spoke to us felt very rude and dismissive.I understand that appointments may be required and that the salon may be busy. What was disappointing was the lack of kindness and willingness to simply answer a question. We were visiting for our daughter’s birthday and had traveled four hours because we wanted this to be a special experience for her.I don’t expect perfection, but I do expect friendly customer service, especially at a place designed around creating magical experiences for children.Unfortunately, this visit left us disappointed. We spent a significant amount of money, traveled four hours, and planned our Nashville trip around visiting American Girl. I would have loved to leave telling everyone how wonderful the experience was, but sadly, I cannot recommend this location based on our visit. The restaurant was adorable, but the service and customer interaction made the experience not worth the $280 we spent. I truly hope management takes this feedback seriously because American Girl has the opportunity to create such special birthday memories for girls, and our visit simply wasn’t the experience we hoped for.

I went on April 6 2024 in preparation for my trip to Indiana for the total solar eclipse on April 8.This place isn't as big as Orlando's (which's 15,000 sq ft vs 9,000 sq ft for this) in Florida or the others. It was a nice thing to add to my eclipse trip.

This is the BEST American Girl store we've ever been to. The staff is incredible and we just love them. We have been coming to this store for years and feel like we know everyone there! Everyone is so helpful and friendly. We have had a birthday party here and have attended several special events and everything is always top notch. My daughter even got her own ears pierced here on her birthday and the experience was so special. I highly recommend this sweet store. You will find the best dolls and the best people ever!

We got an appt for my daughter to first time ever visit the store and do the doll salon . We had never gotten to do it before . The hairstyle my daughter picked out was not the one done . I questioned it a bit but she kept getting defensive so I backed off . She didnt really try to engage with us . Then another appt came up behind us . The stylist was running behind on times . This mother daughter where so rude and took over our whole appt . Talking to our lady doing ours . Interacting with mine . Little girl was rude and taking things my daughter had like the book and what not . We really didn’t feel that whole vibe i had heard about . The lady doing the salon just u could tell was agitated . This little girl was trying to get to tea time I guess . Overall the experience was awful and it didn’t have that magical moment . The other part was the lady stocking the shelfs . You would try to ask questions about things and she would blow u off and walk past . I guess we will be sticking to ordering online . Since this is how they do things . Thank goodness my daughter is almost 4 and hopefully won’t remember. I was really looking forward to my first experience in the store with my only daughter .
