Padre Balli Park Beach ·$

This camp site is open all-year round and it provides more than 370-acres of beautiful coastline under the warm Texas sun. It's a superb place to pitch a tent and 'glamp' (glamour camping) because the park has water and electric connections which make it much more convenient than most campsites. The other facilities are comprehensive as well, with the Briscoe Pavillion, guests can host parties and events and on the Bob Hall Pier, they can try their hand at fishing over the Gulf of Mexico. Additionally, at the park office, visitors can take a hot shower for a fee.

This review is about the campground only. I would give the old section a rating of 1.The new part at $50 a night looks very nice and has water, sewer, electric. The older part at $25 a night is an absolute dump and has water and electric. There is a dump available right there.Sites are extremely close. Your picnic table is a few feet from the neighbor's table end to end with the RVs being parked on the outside of the tables putting them right between the RVs. If you want to sit at your table and eat or talk, you are just a few feet from your neighbor. The road is is horrible. Be careful of the big holes. There is a bathroom shower house in the old section but it is permanetly shut down so you have to go to the one in the new section that is 3/10 of a mile away. Yes, I checked it. You cannot cut across the field as there is water flowing through it and very tall, at least waist high weeds. If you need a quick dump, fill, and place to spend the night and don't plan on leaving your RV it is tolerable. If you want a place to enjoy your spot, be outside, or even speak to each other without the neighbors 5 feet away, either pay $50 or move on. Just as an FYI they do have a coyote problem so do not leave pets or kids outside alone. This is not an isolated problem and is not just this spot. But is something to be aware of.

We enjoyed Padre Balli Park for its location and hours. Camping is also available and portable toilets. Great beach access. There was a little trash no thanks to you litterbugs . The park appears maintained and supervised and recommend it. Compares well to Mustang Island and was closer to where we stayed overnight.

We asked for electric only was told non available took a all hookup site. The electric only sites were available the entire time of our visit. Crooked business. The bathroom showers were never cleaned . The workers put toliet cleaner in but never used a brush. Smelled of pee. Spider webs dirty walls sinks showers. Not what I expected. Beach was nice lots of trash.

After a heavy rain, We had ankle deep water all around the camper (see pictures) two days so far (we are still here as i write this) the water doesn’t seem to drain at all. Also be aware-we reserved the $25/night site back in February for a July trip and when we arrived they only had the $50/a night premium sites. - they said we didn’t check a box on the reservation so the trip costs us double what we budgeted. Still cheaper than most places but it felt like a bait and switch. AND the non premium sites aren’t flooded!!

Was there 3 nights over Labor Day weekend 2023. Great staff. Great sunsets. No trashy people or rigs. Saw a boy scout troop tent camping. We took a walk around the whole place. I never saw any of the crap mentioned in previous reviews. Inconsiderate people played tejano all night till 7am. This also could have came from the beach as 75% of the beach goers played tejano way too loud.
