tripadvisorLoved the concert view and sound was amazing and it was my kids first concert but many people who worked there were yelling at everyone and were kinda being jerks about everything and overall ruined the experience
MoreWhile we did have a good time, it could have been better. Walmart's website could have been improved with the following:- CREDIT CARD or electronic payments ONLY on-site. We normally take cash to musical venues because they don't take credit card; it's the opposite here! We were so bummed because we couldn't buy any T-shirt or swag and we flew all the way from Hawaii to see these wonderful artists, and left without any merch. There's no in-and-out privileges. This is not stated on the website. We couldn't buy any food or drink, either.- DOGGONE POLE: Yes, some of the end seats have an obstructed view due to the poles being there, this is not stated on the website. We lucked out because our back row was mostly empty, so we moved over a few seats to avoid the obstructed view. They need to state this on the website.- BAG POLICY: Walmart AMP's website just specifies that you're only allowed a clear large sized ziplock bag (measurements listed for the Ziplock) and a small clutch. They need to specify the measurements on what they mean by a small clutch. I played it safe and took a really small 4 x 6 zippered bag that barely held my backup battery and cord, and when I got there, the allowance was a little larger than that. You have to place your small clutch on a measurement pad they have, if it's too big, you have to back to your car and get back in line. Please, Walmart, if you're going to list the damn plastic bag size, list the small clutch size as well!!!Good things:- lots of restrooms, and clean- free and paid parking (we just walked from Embassy Suites).- sound system was spot on, when it was cranked a little too loud at times, I just stuck my fingers into my ears. I normally bring music earplugs but it was OK except for a few songs, which were really cranked up.- good stage videos, masterfully cut in and out during solos and duets, with clear sharp pictures, so even if you're on the lawn, you can see the performance with clarity.- you can pick up your printed tickets at will-call if you can't figure out the rotating electronic tickets that shape-shift every 60 seconds. Plus, if you pick it up, you have a hard copy you can keep in your scrapbook or mementos as a keepsake, just like it was in the 80's and 90's. I still have my old Police concert tickets from the late 80's.
MoreThere's nothing special about this amphitheater. The seats don't have drink holders and while it's great that there aren't very many steps or steep inclines to climb, it does make it difficult to see the stage if you have a tall person with a big head sitting directly in front of you. Good number of bathrooms for the ladies, but the drinks were outrageously priced!
MoreFirst time at the Walmart Amp and it was a great experience. It is laid out well with lots of food and drink options and of course not a bad seat in the house. We upgraded to the Amp Underground which allows for early entrance and 2 complimentary drinks and a burger or hot dog. Lots of table seating and a couple of couches in this area. We stayed next door at the Embassy Suites and it was literally a 3-4 minute walk there and once the show was over the same back. We saw Styx, Foreigner and John Waite and will be back next summer to see someone for sure.
MoreThe shows have always been fun. Only issues is that I about had a heart attack and when a soda bottle and a small container of wine was almost $20. Also, I love classic rock. These are the shows I go to. I don’t understand why lead singers feel the need to drop the f and a bombs for no reason. No reason it can’t be kept clean. No reason at all! Reo did it two years ago and foreigner did it this time. Styx was amazing as usual. You can tell they are good guys.
