After being sealed for over 10,000 years, this cave was discovered in 1963 when a group of workers were digging to build a highway overpass. Daily tours are available and last just over an hour. The cave stays a comfortable 72 degrees Farenheit year-round, and features not only beautiful rock formations but also the remains of prehistoric mastodons, saber-tooth cats and other ice age animals. After your tour, enjoy the shaded picnic area with a playscape for children.

tripadvisorMy grandkids and I had a blast, thanks the tour and hospitality.Michael Lafuente
MoreExcellent tour with an informative guide. Narrowly avoided about 100 kids on a school trip! Actually their teachers did keep them pretty much under control. Note that the walkway through the cave is narrow, low, uneven and occasionally wet. Lots of handrails and floor mats to assist but if you have trouble walking you may want to reconsider. It’s about a mile in and out. Worst part is the exit about 200ft up a fairly steep incline. I was winded and had to stop but the guide was very understanding and waited for me. Thanks.
MoreVery informative tour with a great touch of story telling along the way thru the cave. Our tour guide did a great job at taking care of his group and explaining things. Would highly recommend this tour for all especially families. There are many beautiful sites to see and if you like caves you will love this one.
MoreWonderful experience. Great tour & tour guide (Glen). Basic tour was easy to walk and would certainly consider going back for the more advanced tours. Glen took his time and was a wealth of knowledge. September is off season, so it's a great time to tour with a very small group. Not as cold in the cave as we expected.
MoreHey there! So, we were in Austin and looking for some fun activities to do with the kids. We stumbled upon this incredible place called the Inner Space Cavern on TripAdvisor, and it was an absolute gem! The temperature down there was a refreshing escape from the scorching heat above. Our guide was super knowledgeable and made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Now, I must warn you, this place isn’t for the faint of heart. It’s not just a mile-long walk, but you’ll also be doing a lot of walking up and down. So, if you’re not a great walker, you might want to think twice before visiting.
