tripadvisorWe had a marvelous 4-night stay at the Red Rosebud. A beautiful historic home and truly gracious hosts come together to ensure a classic, top shelf B&B experience. Even after taking in dietary requests, Nicole went even further above and beyond putting out a fresh, top quality spread each morning. All dishes are handmade daily with quality ingredients, and we headed out each day well fed and fortified. We stayed in The Malachite Room, which stands alone in an outbuilding. We loved how absolutely quiet it was, but the room was a little cramped, and not quite as well appointed as the rooms in the main house, so I recommend giving those rooms a good look. Jeff gave us a good tour of the grounds and shared his plans for upgrades, and it appears this place will only get better. Now or in the future, Red Rosebud gets a top recommendation from me.
MoreWe spent a lovely weekend at this beautifully restored Victorian Inn and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. The Inn is only a 15-minute drive from Canon City for those visiting the Royal Gorge and well worth the drive. We made the most our time at the Inn, enjoying the coziness of the parlor, beautiful weather under the gazebo, and lounging in our plush Emerald room. The Inn is very well-maintained, clean, and has a very interesting history that’s detailed in a book. The owners, Nicole and Jeff, were very welcoming and accommodating, and we especially appreciated Nicole’s enthusiasm and creativity in tackling a complicated dietary restriction. The breakfasts were delicious and bountiful, just the perfect start to a day of sightseeing and shopping. Complimentary snacks, drinks, and wine were available all day which was a very thoughtful touch. We will absolutely stay here again when we are in the area.
MoreOnce again a delightful stay as we re-visited the charming throw-back town of Florence, CO. We were greeted warmly by Nicole upon our arrival with a welcome back and she proceeded to do what she does best....make us feel totally cared-for and comfortable. This time we stayed in the Emerald Room which we really loved...spacious, sunny with a private bath and the most comfy bed ever!I am an anxious traveler by nature, but Nicole always puts me at ease with her kindness and generous spirit...she truly wants us to feel at home and does whatever is needed to make sure we are happy and well taken care of. Her breakfasts are always thoughtful and delicious with attention to all the details for ultimate yumminess! If you are ever visiting the Florence/Canon City area, give yourself the gift of staying at The Red Rosebud with Nicole and Jeff. Highly recommend!
MoreNicole and Jeff Coutts were terrific hosts. Nicole was very accommodating, She showed me a couple of rooms she had available so I could select the one that worked best for my mom and me. She had restaurant suggestions for dinner and even offered to make us a quick bite when we were too tired to go out. She was very easygoing and we enjoyed talking to her about the house, travel and life in general! Jeff was friendly too and helped with suggestions for a scenic drive to our next destination. The dining room was well stocked with plenty of snacks, had an extensive selection of teas and was the perfect setting for a warm breakfast to start the day.
MoreWe stayed here 2 years ago when we were new to Colorado and it was called The Florence Rose. The new owners Nicole and Jeff have done quite a bit of updating since taking it over. It was as delightful as before....and then some! Their hard work and enthusiasm for their new venture is so evident as is their desire to have their guests feel welcomed and well taken care of. The Victorian home has so much charm and the breakfast was amazing....a smorgasbord of deliciousness! Upon leaving Nicole thanked us for staying with them and presented us with a lovely (chocolate) red rose....such a nice surprise and just added to the overall charm. This will continue to be our go-to place to stay when visiting the Florence/Canon City area.
