This just s a fun fitness resort. If you can smile while you’re working out - what is better than that. I highly recommend this program. Great food, great people, great trainers and great accommodations. This will be my go-to vacation spot for years to come.

I just enjoyed two weeks of fitness camp in Malibu and I WILL return to this great organization! The program is well planned and the staff make this experience top notch. The grounds are lovely and your days are filled w many work outs and hikes everyday. The trainers and hiking guides are there to support and push you to your full potential. The wellness staff are knowledgable and you learn many tips for your home life. The food and chef plus dining staff make every meal healthy and delicious. If you want to get fit, have fun doing it and learn new fitness tools book your trip to Wellfit. I will return as many many others have also!

After reading very positive reviews on TripAdvisor, Google Reviews and Yelp and after a very helpful conversation with Alicia from WellFit by telephone, I decided to try the one week stint at the resort. Off the back this is not the kind of experience you commit to without fully committing mentally to what you will encounter and experience when you arrive. The WellFit Malibu website does a great job to describe what you should expect during your stay. I personally could not stay longer than 1 week but could see the benefits of a multi-week stay. I attended the last week of August 2016 and there was a total of 17 guests in the group (including me). They only commit to 40 guests at a time according to their paperwork so that all guests can get proper attention and treatment. Why was this the hardest thing that I've ever done? I have never hiked in my life, I am an extremely picky eater, love sugar, love snacking, hate exercising. After the completion of my first week (9/3/16), I lost 3 pounds and 9 inches. As of the day of this review, I have lost a total of 6.3 pounds. The program is NOT about starving you to death, yelling at you like you are in a boot camp, making you feel badly about yourself or forcing you to participate in activities that you physically and/or mentally cannot do. If you are unable to participate in activity there are alternatives. If you have a strict food requirement (with the exception of kosher) they can fulfill your meal requests. A stay at WellFit is a habit changing, physically and mentally demanding, wellness program that changes the way you look at food, gives you healthy options to choose for meals and snacks and expends every last bit of energy out of you so you are too tired to worry or concern yourself with whatever is going on with you. Every morning starts off with a morning stretch, followed by breakfast, and a 2-hour hike (those dang hikes were a beast). 1-hour of the hike mostly uphill with the sun beating on you and maybe if you are lucky a nice breeze and the second 1-hour is mostly downhill with some inclines throughout. If hiking isn't an option for you, no worries. There is a workout routine scheduled during the hike at the resort. The key is to keep guests active practically the entire time they are at the resort with very little down time. This is not a vacation by any means, you are working on being a BETTER YOU. It is too expensive to waste time complaining and not participating in the scheduled activities and so everyone who attends is fully invested and committed to starting and finishing all tasks AT THEIR OWN PACE. After the hike the guides transport all guests back to the resort for a snack and seminars designed to educate you on eating healthy, minding food portions, etc. followed by lunch. After lunch the rest of the afternoon until dinner is filled with classes focused on cardio, strength, core and other focused areas. The food...phenomenal. I mentioned earlier being a picky eater. I was raised in a Caribbean household so we love our flavors and spices. The Executive Head Chef Rodolfo Reyes is a godsend to WellFit. Cooking is his passion and it translates into every dish that he prepares. He even comes out after every meal (with the exception of breakfast) to see how everyone is enjoying his creations. The dinner and lunch options can be substituted with other options if the meal being served is not to your liking and with every meal you leave full and satisfied. Lunch is always served with an amazingly yummy soup and a dessert always follows dinner. My favorite soup was the Mediterranean Vegetable soup with feta cheese (yes feta in soup - life changing!). The WellFit staff are top-notch professionals who genuinely care about your well being. They do not treat you like a client but like a member of the family. Without a doubt, I will make an effort to make this trip at least annually as it is the perfect reset for busy professionals who don't have time to work out in such an aggressive manner. Since returning home, I am walking longer, eating better, trying to replicate some of the meals prepared and genuinely happy with the numbers on the scale going down. I feel better about myself and have no regrets going to WellFit. I will say that the guests in my group were quite diverse...some married, some single, we even had a teenager accompanying a family member (15 years old who loved aquatic zumba and the yoga classes). Also many of the guests were folks who returned after being guests previously. The newcomers were outnumbered by the veterans. The days of me taking lazy vacations every again are behind me. This is the best reset I have had in my entire life and I am grateful to the WellFit management for being so dedicated to seeing to it that every clients' needs are met. Final thoughts, if you go, YOU MUST make an appointment for a massage and Dr. Ray the Chiropracter is a miracle worker. I have never seen a chiropractor before but all of the veteran guests kept suggesting (rather strongly) that if you do nothing else, you have to see Dr. Ray. I have always suffered from a bad lower back due to poor posture and I left his 20 minute session pain free and with increased flexibility. Also I am on day 8 days migraine free without meds. He did something with my neck and so far, so good. I truly cannot say enough good things about this place. I stayed in a private cabin (which basically means I don't have to share my bathroom with another guest) and was perfectly comfortable. If you are preparing to go I DO RECOMMEND STRONGLY...that you follow the list of things to pack that WellFit sends to you. You WILL NEED hiking footwear and be prepared to change at least 2x per day. After the hike you want to take a shower but some just stayed in their hiking gear until after lunch. Buy socks with wicking material and be prepared for a blister or two to rear its ugly head. Hiking for 2 hours is no joke and can affect your feet. Unless you plan to stay afterwards to sight-see, leave the fancy clothes at home. I was in a hat and workout gear 98% of the time. There is a fully-stocked laundromat on the grounds so if you don't want to buy a bunch of workout gear like I did you can wash your clothes on-site. Worked out well for me as I came home with a suitcase full of clean clothes.

If you're ready to invest in yourself and become a better version of you, then Wellfit Malibu is the place for you! Wether you arrive solo or come with a friend or spouse, you can be assured of a very challenging and rewarding experience. I traveled solo and my goal was to better learn how to workout more efficiently and effectively and to incorporate a healthy lifestyle into my diet. The trainers, nutritionist, masseuses, chef, hiking guides, housekeeping staff, front desk personal, and limo driver at TLC were all exceptional. I wasn't really sure what to expect upon my arrival other than what I had read on this site. Every bit of what you read is so genuinely true. I came for two weeks and vastly improved my fitness level, changed my way of thinking about food, and left feeling accomplished and proud of myself. My results were fabulous and i continue to live by the ways that I learned at Wellfit. I look forward to making Wellfit an annual event!! Thank you to the entire staff and all the wonderful people that came on the same journey with me! Do yourself a favor, make a reservation - you will thank me once you return!!

For 33 years, I devoted myself to raising my children, husband, our extended families, building careers and businesses. As the last of our children graduated from college, a heart event shook me to the core and I realized that I had paid little attention to taking care of myself. I was overwhelmed at where to begin. As though a higher power knew exactly what I needed - I stumbled upon an ad and a discounted rate. I clicked, paid and packed. And never looked back. Not only did this one week kick start my weight loss and health journey - it changed my life. The classes, activities and instructors were amazing, supportive and overwhelmingly positive. The food is delicious and nourishing. One of the guests joked in the beginning about sneaking off to get burgers at the beach - but honestly, none did because we never felt unsatisfied. We were not hungry - not in our tummies, not in our hearts and not in our souls. What I did feel, is hungry for life. To wake in the morning and get started on fulfilling my needs, my dreams, my wishes - something I'd forgotten to do a long time ago. This Everyone there was somewhere on a journey of better health and well being. Perfect strangers became strong allies of support. In fact, I had never recieved support and encouragement like that - the positive environment was transformative. Worth every cent.
