My family with a couple of young kids came to Crystal Beach for spring break. We were looking for a quiet beach experience that’s good for children. There were nice air bnbs and plenty of beachfront to choose from. The beach itself is nice with good sand. The ocean was choppy but fine for the kids to play in. What we didn’t expect was that the beach itself is effectively a highway for lifted trucks, golf carts, Honda Civics, custom dune buggies, etc. The speed limit is supposedly 15 mph but people are regularly doing 40-50+ directly down the middle of the beach. Plenty were drinking and driving or getting high behind the wheel. This basically goes on all day but really picks up in the evening. It’s pretty loud as well. We basically could let our kids play freely on the beach without concern for them getting smoked by an ATV driven by 12 year olds. In other words, nice beach and houses, but the beach traffic is a mood killer and not at all safe for kids. Unless that’s what you’re looking for. Would not recommend for families looking for low key beach vibes.

We enjoyed a few days at the beach with our dogs and stayed in a house right on the beach. The beach, ocean, salty air, and the wildlife are amazing. We all had so much fun and can’t wait to go back again this May.

Crystals Beach Belle Mare, Mauritius.Fantastic beach and swim area. Very nice touch from the hotel to have a huge container with mint and cucumber water full of ice on the beach throughout the day, free of charge.Very little sea life as the coral has sadly died in this area, except if you go out all the way to the coral/deep sea line, of course. The hotel is big, can host 700 guests. The rooms are adequate but dated and definitely in need of maintenance and an update. The food is adequate. Nothing extraordinary and although every night is a different food theme night, the food is the same, EVERY night. And spicy. If you do not like spicy (not hot) food, you will struggle. We had two consistently bad experiences, which we highlighted to the GM, Sanjaye on the second night of our stay. A lot of appreciation for him immediately following up on the below, although it made very little difference:1. Service. The waiters are mostly young and clearly not trained. Service is TERRIBLE.After our meeting with the GM the service in the main restaurant improved a lot, with specific thanks to Raj, our waiter who went above and beyond the call of duty to make our stay memorable. The service at the beach restaurant though, is shocking - the food is very good though for lunch. Basic menu but very good quality.2. We were on an all-inclusive package, and it became clear from day one that they save by watering down the drinks - imagine 10% juice and 90% water, that is what all the cocktails tasted like. My husband switched to Phoenix beer and myself and our daughter eventually got them to do at least one mocktail to our liking and just stuck with that for the week, as all other attempts were the same: extremely watered down. The hotel's main feature is definitely its fantastic beach. Will we book here again? No. The service, food and drinks are a major part of one's holiday and sadly do detract from what could have been an amazing experience. With the waterworld and the beach the hotel is ideal for people with younger children, and if you do not expect anything extraordinary.

The Texas beac is not that clean, brown sand and I don’t get in but it’s great to ride your gulf cart down, watching all the people. You can even park there and camp. It’s great for dogs, Texas have dog friendly beaches. I have noticed that beaches South Padre Island are clean and white. But I do love all Texas beaches.

Crystal Beach is very clean. You can drive your cars on the beach, just make sure you get a parking sticker. Watch for traffic as you move around in the sand, but it's not too hard.
