tripadvisorMy family and friends will be in Austin for a wedding. I thought it would be nice to arrange a private tour for them since we had never been to Austin before. I contacted Howie, who worked hard to arrange a van and driver, and responded to my emails quickly. Unfortunately, my group couldn't decide what they wanted to do, so after Howie arranged for the van and driver, and we had everything set up, I had to cancel the trip. Howie knew all along that the trip might not happen, and was willing to work with me anyway. He was very supportive, even after I cancelled the trip. Next time we are in Austin, we will make this a priority! Thanks, Howie!
MoreWe spent the day with Howie on a very customized tour. My husband and I wanted a quick tour of the city of Austin and then out to the country to visit some wine and olive oil tours. All I can say is Wow! Howie gave us very detailed information of buildings, iconic places, a college campus, the capital, war and battle history, parks and recreation, restaurants, music history and events and. We then went to the hills for a visit to some of the local wineries and an olive orchid (which I purchased 3 bottles of amazing wines and 2 bottle of very tasty olive oils). We also were blessed with a very tasty lunch at a locally owned cafe. We both found Howie to be very knowledgeable, witty and texicanly charming...(I know texicanly isn't a word, but not sure how else to describe). I strongly urge you to enjoy your day with Howie when your in Austin and looking for authentic information about the rich culture of the area.
MoreCharged with planning an activity for a group of visitors from across the country, I contacted Howie, because I clearly needed professional help. He was all that you could want from a tour guide--prompt, courteous, knowledgeable, and humorous. Throughout the rest of the weekend, many attendees made a point to let me know how much they enjoyed the tour and Howie's insights. I would not hesitate to recommend Texpert Tours to anyone wanting to learn more about Austin.
MoreWe wanted to check out the Austin Hill Country, and discovered online that there was also quite a few wineries in the area. Texpert Tours worked out great for us - we had an expert tour guide who knew seemingly everything about the region, and we were able to wine taste without worrying about navigating ourselves around an unfamiliar area.
MoreWe went on this tour on the first of a 4 day vacation to Austin, TX and we are so happy we did. Howie showed us and told us about the best local things to do in Austin and even made himself available after the tour for suggestions and questions via phone. We got some great ideas for other places to go and things to do while in town. We learned so much and felt we really saw the unique and weird side of Austin. The tour is a bit pricey, but Howie really goes above and beyond with customer service, so it was worth it to us. If/when we return to the Austin area, we will definitely look him up again.
