As one of Austin's finest attractions, Barton Springs Pool is the perfect outing for those hot Texas days — or even the cool ones. Maintaining a comfortable 68 degrees Fahrenheit (20 degrees Celsius) year round, you will enjoy a 100-percent natural swimming experience with no chlorine. The grassy hillsides and moss-covered rocks are perfect for sunbathing. Diving boards, concession stands and restroom facilities are also available. When the kids get tired of the water, enjoy the play structure to complete the afternoon. Lifeguards are on duty. You are encouraged to call ahead, as the pool occasionally closes.

tripadvisorPopular swimming spot at Zilker Metropolitan Park created by natural springs. Pretty cool to have in the middle of an urban area. It's a scenic spot surrounded by nature and with views of the city in the distance. The water is quite cold which might be fine if it is hot and humid, but it was slightly uncomfortable on the mild spring-like day that I was here in June. It was very crowded when I was here on a Friday afternoon and has more of a fun and loud atmosphere rather than being relaxing. Changing rooms were closed for construction but temporary facilities were available. Take note that the footing in the pool is very slippery and made exit and entry somewhat difficult. Water shoes would be very helpful. I enjoyed the experience but as a tourist, it is only something I would need to do once just to have experienced it. However, if I lived near downtown Austin, I could see coming here regularly especially during the hotter days of summer to socialize with friends and to escape the heat.
MoreAn awesome spot for a refreshing dip and sunbathing along the banks. We walked up from the Westin along the river and couldn’t wait to cool off on a mid-February day with sunny skies and temps in the mid-70s.There are lifeguards, changing facilities, and a diving board. In February, there was no fee to enter.
MoreA little confusing when you get there on how to enter, but absolutely worth the walking in wrong directions hahahah it was so lively and a wonderful people watching spot. The water was cold, but it was only April. The city view from the spring is amazing. I’ve never felt so with nature in the middle of the city before.
MoreSuch a lovely place to visit on a very hot day in Austin! Very chilled vibe and the water is really pleasant to swim in. It can get quite busy on a weekend, but there’s plenty of space on either side of the pool to relax and lie in the sun. The water is really quite cold, we enjoyed it but some might struggle… It also does have some living creatures in it, we had a shock when a turtle suddenly popped up next to us! Disappointing that locals and tourists are charged at a different rate, especially when nobody is checking at all on the gate. A lovely afternoon, would recommend to anyone with some down time in Austin.
MorePlace is really pretty. You have to pay $7 por parking, $9 for adults entrance and $4 for kids entrance. The ticket are sold in machines that work extremely bad, recommendation is to either bring cash or download the app ATXswims and buy tickets in there in advanced. Outside the place was full of people selling icecream but no food is allowed inside. Entrance security is very light to call it somehow and stairs to go down to the springs are like broken stones so not good if you plan to go with elderly. Not sure if there were any other option to get inside. People will strollers seemed to make it despite it all.Spring water is freezing! We went on August with + 90 degrees outside. Be prepared :) Water was very nice, there was a lot of slippery moss in the floor, recommendation is to bring water shoes.
