Extremely well done. Now is the Christmas decor. It’s all free too. As usual the history is the best part. If near or visiting I would put this on my list of Amarillo things to do. Would have loved to see the entire house however this time of year only first floor available. Tour guide was excellent.

I always wanted to visit this place and finally had time. Very cool seeing the way the house is setup.

we were here over the weekend so we didn't get to enjoy the tour but we did drive by the house. in what appeared to be the old down town area was this mansion. reading the back story helps to appreciate the house and what it represents. just one more curiosity to see in amarillo

After visiting the disappointing 66 historic district, we drove around Amarillo and stopped by this beautiful house.Contrary to the first one mentioned, we were delighted with this terrific home. We took some pics and wanted to enter but it was closed for touring.

We called at the last minute and were able to squeeze in here. Be sure to call ahead to book as they only have tours on Tuesdays and Thursdays and only two tours a day limited to four people. Be prepared to climb three flights of stairs and not sit or lean on anything. This place is well-preserved for a reason—few visitors and many rules. Lots of plastic on the floor to step on. Almost everything in the house is from Mrs. Harrington and her husband who amassed a fortune of over $70 million. Mrs. Harrington left specific instructions for her home to become a museum, so it is almost like a shrine. You will see so many treasures and clever interior design. The wood in the house was especially well preserved and exquisite. The tour is about an hour. It said 50 minutes, it by the time we were finished, it had been about 75 minutes. My husband was dying because he has a bad back and didn’t realize the detail the docents would go into about so many things. The home is absolutely worth visiting while you are in Amarillo.
