We found a brief description of an “art museum on a college campus.” That did not prepare us for three fascinating floors of eclectic works. It as a Friday afternoon and we nearly had the place to ourselves. Amazing creations from a bevy of artists using *money*—mainly US coins and currency. Wildly creative and some cutting social commentary as well. The third floor has an extensive “Pan-Asian” art collection that we believe is permanent. The staff as cordial and knowledgeable, making us feel most welcome. And thanks to the generosity of its founders and Amarillo College, it was free of charge. A really nice artistic respite on our drive to Arizona!

The museum is an absolute must see if you are traveling through Amarillo. It’s a humble but impressive collection, and their special exhibitions are especially noteworthy. It is a gem of a small town museum. Excellent programming. Great spaces for kids of all ages to experience and actually interact with. Some of the bad reviews make me sigh….there are so many reasons to love this space whether you are passing through or live locally.

One floor was closed because they were replacing the exhibit but overall the museum was a little underwhelming. The art they had was pretty cool but there wasn't much to look at even if you took your time. Definitely wait until they reopen the new exhibit.

This place always has wonderful, interesting exhibits. The facility is always well maintained, and the staff is terrific.

This was a wonderful find for an art museum n a college campus. Very informative with some excellent pieces of art
