Walking through the door of the ES Lubbock, I was immediately transported back to 1984, with no Delorian, or flux capacitor needed. This is a vintage property, in every aspect. Decor, furniture, and even the television picture in letterbox format. Certainly, this place is an acquired taste, but after you settle in, it is actually quite enjoyable. The food in the bar/restaurant is good, the breakfast as well, and the Happy Hour still is a nice touch. But the thing that makes this place is the super friendly staff. Every single staff member that I encountered was helpful, smiling, and seemed to really enjoy their work. I hear that renovations are slated soon, but I think that they should refurbish without redoing and leave this place as the monument to the past that it is.
MoreLovely courtyard ambience with beautiful well-tended plants! Loved the openness and old-world style stucco walls with the warm gold hues. Nice, well-stocked hospitality hour. Can’t compliment the friendliness of the staff enough! Rooms and carpet is a bit dated but the hospitality & ambience far outweighs the dated rooms!

MoreTrey was amazing, there was some system issue and he checked me in very efficiently and calmly. He maintained him composure while other people were getting upset. Very skilled customer focused guy.
MoreDefinitely needs updating, beds have holes in the box spring coverings and allOutdated. The tv service was updated the first week we were here and Fox News went dark and they could t restore, a week later they no longer carried a conservative channel but cnn alive and well - won’t be staying here again as this property needs care and someone decided to lean the tv availability which is unfortunate- furniture beat up and last week ac can’t keep up when in the heat of the day. A lot toImprove on for a chain that has a reputation of consistency - what a shame.
