The Gothic Theatre has an illustrious history. Started in the twenties, the theater was more than just a place for films, it was a place to meet friends and family. It was also the first theater in Denver to show talking movies. Today the grand art deco style of the theater is still dominant and it has now been turned into a world-class music center. In keeping with the move, the Gothic has installed state-of-the-art sound and light systems, doing justice to visiting bands like The Rebirth Brass Band.

tripadvisorDISGUSTING display from multiple female security guards last night. My husband and I were minding our own business when a belligerently drunk woman started screaming at me about how I am a racist because I plugged my ear when she was screaming into it. The woman proceeded to harasses us throughout the entire duration of the show commenting on how we are white and started fights with multiple others near us. We even witnessed her push another man after calling him a racist as well. This woman enjoys the entire concert then decides she is going to work up some fake tears to tell a security guard that I called her a racial slur... NOT TRUE . When we were confronted by the security guard I mentioned the woman was wasted and completely insane and she proceeds to tell me she wasn't drunk. OH REALLY? So, I didn't witness her down multiple drinks and falling over for the last 2 hours? She refuses to ask anyone else around us what happened when we told her there were multiple witnesses and escorted us out. When I asked her if she is removing us because we are white she basically looked at me blank acknowledging that, yes, this is why we are the ones getting kicked out.Other security guards started making comments and accusing us of being racist as we left without having any context of what happened. They were extremely unprofessional and it felt like total reverse racism bullying behavior. Will not continue to support this venue after this incident.
MoreWe saw a concert on a Friday night in January. Arrived an hour and a half before door opening time (which was an hour before showtime) and parked in the pay lot right next door. Loved the intimate venue and the employees were all great. Stayed for VIP meet & greet at end. All went smoothly and I’d highly recommend it to others! We did have a question about how early entry tickets worked but easily got help on the phone in advance about that. People also could ask in person while in line about that if they had questions.
MoreBeware!!! We were surrounded by drunks, very few seats. Saw security remove several people around us. Bad neighborhood. Very little parking. We tried to pay for parking in Gothic's lot and it was run by a third party, Vanguard. We entered credit card info and tried to oat the $16 fee, but the site just spun a little circle on my phone and were never able to get through. We recieved a $85 dollar late fee and were never able to talk with anyone. Will never go back!!!
MoreThere were no signs indicating no re-entry and a staff member said I could step out to get my coat from my vehicle parked right in front of the venue. A manager came out to tell me that he over heard our conversation and rudely informed me I was not in fact allowed back in. Your loss guys, I have skipped every show there since.
MoreI attended DRAMA on Friday evening and was grossly racially profiled by an elder woman who was working the door. She was white with dark hair. After finding a hair clip in my jacket pocket, she continued to push me back and insist on patting me down generously. She was rude and kept telling me to stop and if I understood the words coming from her mouth. I watched after this interaction, how she didn't pat down the next 20 or so people that were all white. I am a 5-foot, non-threatening black woman and I will not be visiting this venue again. I would consider terminating her employment for this drastic racist interaction that ruined my evening.
