My husband and I had a great experience on our archery elk hunt with H&A Outfitters in El Vado, New Mexico. Our guide, Gabe, was extremely experienced and knowledgeable about both the land and the elk. Although we weren’t able to fill our tags, we still had an amazing time hiking, exploring the beautiful country, and locating elk throughout our hunt. Gabe worked hard and made the entire experience enjoyable. We really appreciated his knowledge and guidance and would definitely recommend H&A Outfitters to anyone looking for a great elk hunting experience in New Mexico!

This is the place to go if you want a high quality archery elk hunt. I have hunted elk with two different outfitters prior to H&A Outfitters in NM and the number and quality of elk at this place was great. Andy is the owner and has hunted this area for I believe 30+ years. He tells every hunter the same, work on your fitness and bow skills and he will put you on a bull at some point during the hunt. I missed a 5x5 during middle of my hunt but connected on a 6x6 the second to last day. The part of the hunt that most impressed me about Andy was we’re pretty much had a bust of a morning hunt and were heading out of the canyon when we heard a bull bugle way up the mountain. Andy was able to pin point where that bull was going and we got ahead of him and after 45 mins of working him, I was fortunate enough to make a great shot and harvest my first Bull elk. Honest communication before the hunt and honest effort during the hunt is what I received from H&A Outfitters.

Second time hunting with H&A Outfitters. Top notch outfitter. By far my favorite archery hunt to date. Had several opportunities on quality animals and was able to experience peak elk rutting activity. Outstanding experience. Thank you to everyone at H&A Outfitters.

My hunting experience with H&A was unbelievable. After a very disappointing elk hunt in Montana 5 years ago, I found out about H&A thru a friend of my son. Waiting several years to get a bow tag, our turn came. I tell everyone that I was shell shocked at the whole experience. Everyone in elk camp had shots and mine came the second day. Andy called in a great bull and things worked out. Thankfully I didn’t have time to overthink anything and I guess I prepared well. It was clear H&A puts in the work before hunters get to camp. From hunting areas, to the camp itself, everything is what you would hope for! Andy and his crew of guides (Chris, Chas, Drew, etc) are top notch. I have hunted in numerous states for deer and elk. I have been fortunate to hunt with some great guides and H& A Outfitters is definitely in the group. Andy and his guides go above and beyond on these hunts to get you on bulls. I have hunted with Andy on two Bull elk hunts. I have harvested good bulls on both hunts. My last hunt we hunted Northern New Mexico with a rifle. I harvested what will most likely be a bull of a lifetime for me on day three of this hunt. It was an incredible 7x7 that scores in the 375 range. These hunts are not easy. You will work for your bull but I would not want it any other way. If you want guides who work their tails off to get you on bulls then H&A Outfitters is the choice in Mew Mexico. I will be back to hunt again this time with a bow.
