tripadvisorVery nice jazz club. Cool venue. Good vibes. Very good band. We enjoyed our first time visit here; and would return if we’re ever in Des Moines again.
MoreWent for a second time to catch the Brian Martin Big Ban. They were spectacular! (Amazing drummer)Love the club. Great, classic yet fun vibe. Friendly and super prompt servers. Get the cheese and olive tray appetizer. Parking is close by and convenient to downtown Des Moines.
MoreThis was our third time at Noce celebrating a friend’s 65th birthday and Christmas with 5 other couples. We were at the 9 pm Christmas show. Not only was the music completely disappointing (especially the female guest artist who can’t sing) but Max Wellman, owner and lead singer was smug about the fact that he had printed off the wrong play list, when we paid $25 to get in for a 1 hour show ( and we stood in the cold for a half hour to get in then the show started late on top of that ). We ordered lots of drinks and dessert. The final straw was the fact that he came back to our group and ssssh’d us in the middle of the set. It’s a jazz club! It’s not the Civic Center! Get over yourself Wellman. You aren’t that talented and you need to learn customer relations. If we were being rude, come over while you were in the bar area and ask us to be a little quieter, not humiliate our group in the middle of our celebration at your venue. We will NEVER waste another minute in this pretentious club.
MoreI've been a couple times now and most recently saw the Peter Roberts band play the Charlie Brown Christmas music. Outstanding! The venue is so relaxed, the crowd is mixed in age, the lights are dim.. . . It just makes me feel good. Parking is on-street and most seating is general admission, so arrive early to get a good nearby space and your choice of chair.
MoreGreat atmosphere, enjoyed the music; however, felt like it was a little crowded in the way the tables were set up, attended the 9:00 event of Max Wellman and the Des Moines Big Band for a night of listening to songs from Frank Sinatra.
