This art museum, located just south of downtown, contains a stunning replica of the Aztec Sunstone created with 4,400 pieces of wood. As the only Latin American museum in the state, it helps preserve the history of the Latino art experience in America by offering Spanish Colonial works as well as many contemporary pieces of varying mediums. Surrounded by restaurants and eclectic shops, the museum makes for a pleasant, informative day trip from downtown.

tripadvisorThe only reason I do not rate this place as Excellent is because it is so tiny that, even as the displays are fantastic, there is very little to see, and hardly enough to warrant the place being called a museum. It might be better titled Casa de las Americas, to lessen the expectation of the visitor, and the deception.. What is on display is interesting though. The place is located in Denver's so-called art district, with lots of little galleries and many interesting murals. The Uber driver recommended I visit the place during the day and said this is a no-go place after dark.
MoreThis is a small art museum that celebrates Latin-American artists through rotating cultural exhibits. During our visit, the thematic strand was surviving domestic abuse in the Latin community. There were many works done by local artists around this theme. There is a small gift shop on site of pieces donated to the museum and proceeds go to the charity tied to the artistic theme of the season.
MoreSort of pricey for membership, but they have some amazing exhibits. Most recently, I was their for a members' night and they had great catered food and cash bar. I think they are a first Friday Art Walk on Santa Fe favorite
MoreThis is a small and intimate museum that highlights the works of HIspanic artistes. Limited collection. Some are interesting.
MoreThe display was interesting enough, with pictures of the universe taken from the Hubble telescope. Just not sure what it had to do with Hispanic culture. There was one room with some Hispanic knickknacks but not much. I was expecting a Hispanic museum.
