tripadvisorOn our way out from Louisville early morning we decided to stop here and it was easy to locate. It was our first visit and we found it to be very accessible, clean, plenty of parking and nice walking/hiking trails. You can tell this is maintained and in fact they were mowing the day we visited. We first walked around the Egg Lawn which is a nice concrete walkway and a concrete cut-through in the center with some trees and foliage. There are plenty of benches around the area to sit as well. Then we went on another path to Coppiced Woods Trail but it was narrow and noticed tree roots and it had rained the night before so muddy and decided not to do this one. It was more a hiking trail. So we walked around to stay on the paved Louisville Loop. There is road that goes along side of it and you can cut off to other trails too. There is also a creek you walk along. Somewhere along here we found a display with a map which showed all the trails but you can get the trails with descriptions online to plan ahead and there was also port-a-potties here as well which were clean. There was also a building close to one parking area that had an activity going on. It was a nice place to stretch and get a little exercise and we came across others doing the same thing. A good place to walk, ride a bike (certain areas), and dogs are allowed as well.
MoreWith plenty of trails and paths for hiking and biking, Beckley Creek Park is our family favorite. Plenty of room to fly a kite, scooter, walk, look at wildflowers and enjoy the outdoors.
MoreIf you like to get in some walking excercise, this is the place to go! It has great walking trails as well as nice scenery. You will run into lots of other friendly walkers.
MoreMy wife and I just rode our bikes through Beckley into Pope Lick and the Strand (all part of the Parklands development). We've been multiple times, but each time we go we are just as enthused as the previous time. Trails are paved and well maintained and scenery is fantastic. You'll see some wildlife (we missed running over a 4 foot snake by a few inches, and we've seen deer), and the colors are beautiful, especially in the fall. Many hiking options too. The entire Parklands system is a gem.!
MoreI wife and I love this park and are members. We highly recommend it. Great trails and well maintained.
