It's hard to describe something that is so bad that you hardly believe it's true yourself. Booked a car in advance, physically at the desk, for a site visit 2 days later. Showed up at the agreed time and they had no car. Another couple had the same issue and where as extremely upset. Felt like I was in a candid camera episode; The guy at the stand said things like; This happens all the time, nobody else has cars either these days, my manager is out looking for cars (stealing them or ..?), there are some returns expected 4:30 pm (at 9 am!!). I have no clue how AVIS/Budget can stand behind something like this, but it's unfortunately true!! Thank god there are more choices!!

I prepaid for a one-way rental car with Budget TWO MONTHS in advance, expecting that reserving and paying early would guarantee a vehicle and make my trip stress-free. Instead, when I arrived at the location, I was told they did not have any cars available and that I would have to be placed on a waiting list. That is completely unacceptable considering I had already prepaid in full. If you take someone’s money months ahead of time, there should absolutely be a car reserved for them.What makes this even worse is that I was never contacted beforehand to let me know there was an issue with my reservation. I only found out after arriving at the location, wasting my time and completely disrupting my travel plans. The staff offered no real solution, and when I called Budget customer service, I was told there were no one-way rentals available anywhere else either.Because of Budget’s lack of professionalism and poor planning, I will never use Budget again after this experience.

We rented a car for the day from this New Orleans location and scheduled our tours based on an 8:00 a.m. pickup time. Upon arrival, we saw another customer returning a vehicle, and while we waited, the attendant stepped out, returned, and asked us to give him all five stars in a review as he processed our paperwork. At 8:23, he informed us that there were no vehicles available and that we’d have to wait. He texted someone, telling us they would arrive with a vehicle in about 15 minutes. In reality, we finally received a car at 9:20. It had only three-quarters of a tank of fuel and still contained trash from the previous renter. Although we’ve rented from Budget many times, we would not recommend this particular location.
