tripadvisorDavid was a great tour guide very informative. Great sites included in tour. We were given ample time to see and photograph monuments. Lots of history included on each area of interest. David also included information about local eateries and bars.
MoreI gotta tell you folks we really lucked out with these guys. We had just arrived in DC and a concierge offered us the tour. We got Larry the guide and Alberto the driver. They were the best! They were polite and fun. So much so my kids have memorialized Larry in a stuffed monkey from the smithsonian. Great tour very informative.
MoreOur concierge at the hotel recommended this company so we signed up for the Mt. Vernon/Arlington Cemetery tour. Was supposed to go on Friday but was changed to that Saturday which was fine. There was some confusion on what bus we were to take but we ended up with a very comfortable newer 14 passenger van/bus. The main problem was we had to wait on the tour guide who was running late to meet us at the departure point. After that everything went smooth except when we got to Arlington we assumed we would be taken around around in a tram (especially since my wife has a bad knee). Instead we ended up walking everywhere. Arlington was awesome but I was not that impressed with Mt. Vernon. Overall it was an average tour but if you don't want to do a lot of walking I would look for another tour company.
MoreI arrived in DC in late April and wanted to take a tour of the blooming Cherry Blossom trees. Upon arriving to the city we discovered that the bloom was TWO WEEKS ago. Requested a refund of my money and was told that “I need to speak with my manager.” Needless to say I guess that didn’t happen as I have not heard back. NEVER USE THE CO.
MoreLarry and Alberto did a great job on our night tour. Larynx has great knowledge and added to the trip. I decided to do the night trip as I thought there would be some great photo opportunities under lights. There certainly is but some of the stops may actually be better during the day, such as the FDR memorial as well as the Korean and Vietnam memorials. It is definitely a worthwhile tour and very convenient with then picking you up and dropping you off at your hotel. My suggestion would be to do a tour very early in your trip to DC. I think it gives some good ideas of what you might want to explore during the rest of your stay.
