When we checked in, I immediately told the the man at the front desk that I did not want a copy made of my ID. He told me that he had to make a copy of my ID but only needed it for night audit to make sure we were who we said we were. ??? I did not want this and said so. He was looking at my ID and looking at me, so could he not make sure then? He assured me that the front desk would hand it back to me when I checked out. Instead upon checkout, the morning person rudely and loudly refused. He said the motel keeps the copy of my driver's license for a MONTH for security. Other Best Western motels ask for my ID, take a look at it and hand it back. This motel had my credit card on file and they held $100. Why do they need to keep my ID in their system for a month? I am a rewards member. They already have my information. They did not have permission to keep my identification for longer than our stay which was two nights. I asked for it back, I demanded it back and it was not returned which, in my opinion, is deceit and theft. I was told they would return it and then they did not. We would NOT have stayed there if we had not been assured I would get my information back. They kept something that is mine. I have no idea where my information is in their system or who has access to it.We have stayed at this hotel before when in Lakewood and it was fine, hence, we went back. We will never go back after being treated that way. Additionally, we will reconsider BW Rewards membership altogether since we cannot trust what we are told from one hotel to another. There are other nice hotels to choose from.Note: This is a fairly nice place in general. There was a good breakfast, The room was clean enough. Employees were friendly. However, I might also note that the pool was dirty and overloaded with chlorine. There was a false alarm fire alarm at 6:30 in the morning and after that, the AC in our room stopped working.

Came in for a couple days and found the room not fully clean. Housekeeping had not swept/mopped the floors, towels had not been left. Pillows are super flat (ended up buying our own pillows!) Sheets were torn at the foot. Next morning a request was made to switch out the sheets. After a full day, then a fire alarm (no fault of management!), got into bed and found that sheets Did Not get changed! Still Torn! The sheets tore more since my feet kept catching the holes during the night. Sunday spoke to MOD who called housekeeping. The only resolve was “Sorry”. Paid way too much for best Western to have this not resolved or compensated.

Outstanding stay at this location, Best Western Denver Southwest. Loved the dinosaur themed decorations (including full sized reproductions of fossils). Staff was professional, competent, friendly. Facilities were good although we didn't use pool or fitness center. Room, hallways, dining area, lobby were clean and attractive. Rates were better than almost all others in the area. Would definitely come back or recommend to others.

Two couples and two rooms - one king and one with two queens for 4 days - July. We stay here because it is very close to Red Rocks. We reserved our rooms months in advance. When we checked in we were told that all the king rooms on the first floor were 'pet friendly' only. They do not have an elevator and we (being seniors) didn't want to drag all of our heavy luggage up the stairs so we stayed in a 'pet friendly' room. Our king room had a king bed a table full of hotel stuff and two old worn out single chairs for furniture. Right away I did a little research and found that this hotel was recently sold.We are loyal Best Western Rewards customers and have stayed at this hotel many times. This hotel used to be run more like a small resort; very clean, friendly and helpful staff, the owner/manager (and staff) was always visible, the pool was spotless and always cleaned in the morning, endless towels at the pool, and our room was always refreshed during out stay, During this stay - things were off: the glass doors to the pool were grossly dirty, the bottom of the pool had algae growing all along the edge and tiles, no flowers in the beautiful flower pots, broken sun umbrellas, one of our bath towels was stained, the breakfast choices were now very basic - scrambled eggs and sausage, the staff (except for the breakfast cook) was not friendly, and it just didn't look like the hotel was being kept up. I told my wife that this hotel's best days are now gone. I was glad to see the dinosaur theme was still intact but we didn't see any volunteers manning the little dinosaur information booth anymore - informing kids and adults about prehistoric days and explaining the artifacts. Now everything just seems to be decorations. I'm afraid this Best Western is going to quickly morph into just a basic hotel when it used to be so much better. 3 Stars at this Best Western - very basic and morphing into a Super 8.

I have stayed at this location several times in past 4 years. Each year gets worse and this will be last time. The back entrance door did not close all way huge security issue! Requested a crib and upon check in no crib even though I called day before to check. Not advise to stay here
