Terrible. Denver Airport AVIS-worst. I had a reservation from Costco for great price on a standard SUV. When I get to the counter (there is only 1 employee for 10 people in line). She is shouting “we only have 10 passenger vans. All our cars are rented out”. I can clearly see cars in the Avis lot. When I get to the counter I find out they actually do have some EV trucks. I got a EV which was supposed to be charged fully, but was only 48%. Damage on front and rear fenders. Anyway by the time I reached my destination the charge on battery was down to 6%. It sucks trying to find a place to charge the F150 and it takes like 12 hours with the only plug they provide. I was finally able to switch it out after finding a different Avis location in Fort Collins 2 days into my trip and get an SUV that wasn’t an EV. I’m definitely not using AVIS in Denver airport again.

Avis – Wyndham Denver Tech CenterI made a reservation with Avis on August 22 for a one-way rental, and having the car available was absolutely critical to my trip. I showed up to pick up the car on June 26, only to be told that Avis had cancelled my reservation the night before. When I arrived, the staff simply told me there was nothing they could do. They were even hesitant to refund my money for a reservation that Avis had cancelled. What was most frustrating was the complete lack of effort to make things right. There was no meaningful attempt to find me another vehicle, no compensation, and no accommodation whatsoever. They essentially cancelled a critical one-way reservation at the last minute and left me to deal with the consequences.A rental car company cancelling a confirmed reservation the night before pickup—without providing a reasonable alternative—is unacceptable. This completely disrupted my trip and demonstrated a shocking lack of customer service. I would not trust this location with an important rental.

I was given a rental car that REEKED of smoke while traveling with an infant. I watched the keys go directly from the previous customer to me without the car being cleaned or inspected; the staff acknowledged they were too short-staffed to check it.To make matters worse, the car appeared to have been damaged by the previous driver—it looked like they may have jumped a curb or driven over a parking block. Several panels were clearly damaged and rattled as I drove down the highway. The vehicle was not in a condition I considered safe to drive.

1) After waiting approximately 30 minutes with no Avis rental car agent at the counter located inside the Wyndham in the Denver Tech Center, I was extremely disappointed and shocked that a major car rental company would have an unattended customer service desk. There was no sign indicating that the employee is temporarily away and will return shortly, or the hotel front desk should be informed. There was a phone number provided, but our calls went directly to voicemail. We called several times and were unable to reach anyone. The number also did not appear to be a local Denver number or a toll-free customer service number, which did not seem professional.2) Even more concerning was the apparent lack of protection for customer information. While waiting at the unattended desk, I could see a computer screen displaying what appeared to be a customer's sensitive information, including her name, address, and driver's license information. Why was the computer not configured to automatically lock after a period of inactivity? This is basic information-security practice, especially for a company that handles customers' personal and identification information. The desk phone showed 33 missed calls, and the voicemail indicator was flashing. This was extremely concerning. While cybersecurity threats such as hacking are a serious concern, employees and basic operational procedures must also protect customer information. I felt especially sorry for the customer whose information was visible on the screen and would be very concerned if I were that customer knowing that other Avis and Wyndham customers could potentially see my personal information. From my perspective, her information was unnecessarily exposed.Another Avis customer was also waiting with us. She had been instructed to come to this location to exchange her rental vehicle because it was leaking oil. She had driven the vehicle from Parker, Colorado, to the Denver Tech Center despite the issue. This is a significant safety concern. Because no Avis employee was available to assist her, she was ultimately required to continue driving the vehicle to Denver International Airport to have it replaced.3) This experience raised serious concerns about Avis's customer service, employee coverage, vehicle safety procedures, and protection of customer information. I strongly recommend that Avis review the staffing and communication procedures at this location, implement automatic screen-locking requirements for unattended computers, and ensure that customers have a reliable way to reach an employee when the rental counter is temporarily unattended.

Terrible customer service. After standing in line 30 minutes, the agent fussed at me saying as Avis Preferred I should have gone to the other building. I had prepaid for the car but was told I booked as a corporate account. (As a retired educator, I've never had a corporate account). I was told she would have to take the corporate code off which caused a rate increase. I told her I wanted a car for what I had prepaid. She told me to get out of line if I wanted to shop for a better rate. I reluctantly accepted the car. On return I contacted customer service & was told the car was not shown as returned. (I returned to the airport lot & waited for the attendant to check me in.) Still attempting to resolve. Will never rent from Avis/Budget again.
