This is both a lovely place for a stroll and has some fantastic history. The restored buildings are the remaining structures from the Agnews State Hospital, a California hospital for the mentally unwell. Signs give some history. We really enjoyed our visit and had some great discussions about the history of mental health care.

We went to visit the very large Agnews Historical Park . This is a very interesting place to visit Some of the things we went to in the park is the Visitor Center with historic photos. We visited the Historic Clock Tower Building, the administration building, and the mansion. There is nice areas to take a walk, There are places for a picnic. This is also a historical place to visit. Agnews park was once the Agnews Developmental Center. It was a psychiatric and medical care facility. In 1885, the center, originally known as The Great Asylum for the Insane,[1] was established as a facility for the care of the mentally ill. There are photos you can see regarding this period. Also, located at the park are some of the buildings of the huge Technology Corporation - Oracle. There are also nice roses and other plants to see in the park.
