I would have given the hotel a solid 2 1/2 stars if I could have and I'm sorry to have to leave a negative review, but the hotel just seemed tired from the rooms to the halls to the staff. The hotel has an amazing location along Boulder Creek and is very cute (like you're living in your own log cabin, but it needs a lot of TLC, and one staff member was unfortunately not friendly whatsoever. The common areas were great. The main floor had a comfortable couch and fireplace (and outside seating area along the creek) and the upstairs had a large table with tons of games and reading material and a desk if you needed to do any work. That being said, the upstairs hallway carpeting was badly crumpled and the rooms looked like they have been patched together over time. Portable air conditioning units in each room and random fans and lights installed here and there. The bathrooms were ok. The rooms/suites themselves were designed very well with either a sitting area and bedroom or bunk beds (instead of a sitting room) and bedroom, but time has taken its toll. Additionally, the continental breakfast was very sparse. I may have seen four people working there over the three nights we stayed in the lodge and the one who checked us in and whom we saw the most was not very nice our entire stay. I only spoke to one other person setting up the breakfast one morning and she was very nice. This is an inexpensive hotel that I'm sure is great with hikers hitting the trails but we just found it lacking.

Loved our room, it was very spacious and peaceful. Our room had actually two bedrooms with a bathroom in the middle, we are upstairs and it had a lovely lobby where you could play games or sit and relax. Great place. Would definitely stay here again.

We really wanted to like this place but left disappointed two different stays. We stayed here when things started opening up after the pandemic, so we gave them the benefit of the doubt. Our room was disguistingly filthy. I was barefoot in the room and after :30, my feet were black with dirt. I looked under the beds and table, I don't think anyone had used a broom or vacuum in a very long time so I cleaned the room myself. The only cleaning crew we saw were a bunch of teenage boys. The room door never would lock properly, so we made sure we didn't leave any valuables in the room. The bed mattress smelled terrible - like a man. I could even smell aftershave on pillows. We found dirty socks under the bed. . .So...like fools, we thought we would try it again and stay here. Mistake. They might say it was remodeled in 2022, but that's when we stayed there the first time and it still looks the same, if not a little more beaten down. Hallway carpet is tattered and torn, so be careful to pay attention not to fall but you walk up stairs to second floor. There were a bunch of snakes at the outside entry back door where we often entered or exited. When we mentioned it to the teenage girl at front desk, she said that's nature, you're in the woods. We literally had to jump over them. And staff always kept that outside door propped open even after hours. Breakfast is stale pastries and a few other items not even worth mentioning. We ended up leaving early the first stay because everything was so bad. Nothing changed this visit other than deciding we won't be back to Boulder Creek Lodge. For the money, this lodge offers little other than proximity to some great restaurants in Ned.

Love this little lodge! This was our second stay. Very clean with lovely wood lodge atmosphere. We stayed in a creekside room both times. Very nice to sleep with the window open and hear the water rushing along. No problem to walk to shops, restaurants. There is a full grocery store just across the street as well.

I'm a local, have lived up here for years. I am getting married in Nederland this summer, and was so excited to host guests at the lodge. We are trying to have a totally local wedding, and the lodge would have made that happen. After many months of trying to work with the hotel staff, including offering up a deposit and signed contract (not very common with hotel blocks), I was eventually ghosted by the manager. Not even a courteous sorry, we can't accommodate you. I like to think I was pretty nice to everyone there, so to be treated like this, by another local none-the-less, was really frustrating. Unfortunately, after my own experience *trying* to give this hotel a bunch of money, I can confirm the reviews about the manager not being hospitable are true. Huge bummer, as we're now forced to have our guests stay in Boulder and shuttle them up.
