Loved the Silos, the food trucks and shops were delicious and cute. You can do a visit in less than a day. It’s charming and a great stop when visiting Texas. We stayed a weekend-it was too much time. Perfect girls day out!We did the flower press class which was a cute memory and to be honest our favorite souvenir was the old fashioned photo strip for $8. We did so many my card got flagged for fraud (oops!)

I chose Waco for a solo road trip since I'm a fan of Fixer Upper. Of course, a visit to the Silos was top priority. From the outside, it looked exactly how I expected. The grounds and buildings are lovely. Unfortunately, there's not much interesting once you get inside those buildings. I had expected the market and small shops to be filled with things I wanted to purchase, but instead it was all souvenirs (caps, t-shirts, etc) and imported items. I expected to see and purchase local art, housewares, etc. There is not much to see actually, but I do recommend the onsite Inside Magnolia Tour and the offsite Cottonland Castle Tour. Both are very good.

We drove up from Austin for the day and surprised my wife who has been wanting to go for the past few years. Yes it was hot but we pressed on. The grounds are absolutely gorgeous and tranquil. Bakery was delicious and the coffee. We got a cookie and cupcake, coffee and a ham and cheese on croissant. We visited the Alabama Sweet Tea truck and that was worth the $9 mason jar full of sweet tea. The garden area is just picturesque and if you are a gardener you will get many ideas to take home. The shops were small and quaint with beautiful items. We purchased a leather vallet and had it embossed. Good place to throw my keys and wallet at the end of the day. We made reservations at Magnolia Table for the evening. Overall it was a great visit and you can definitely see everything in one day.My advice is to visit the website to book tours and events. We didn’t realize we could tour the castle until we got there and unfortunately it was sold out. So plan your visit carefully. There are plenty of places to eat in the Silo District. MY

Our group stopped at Magnolia Market and the Silos while passing through on a bus tour. The area is well maintained. Besides the Market which is the premier store, there are several small stores to check out. The center square is a park, a baseball field, and a picnic area surrounded by food trucks. There is an area where plants and flowers are grown and sold. There is also a delicious bakery.We walked around the whole thing. Even though the displays in the stores were pretty, they were very over-priced. The same bowl I saw in a souvenir shop in San Antonio for $18, was being sold for $43 in these stores.
