This is a nice area to drive through but there isn't much in Santa Ynez itself. Instead go to Los Olivos which is a small town but very nice for what it is. It has a number of wine tasting rooms

Visited 4 wineries in the area and thought they were as good as the Napa valley wineries but on a smaller more cozy scale.

Roads can be curvey and you will likely encounter motorcycles enjoying the day. Its usually sunny & beautiful.
