As a doula I visit you 2-3 times before your "estimated due date" to help discuss your birth preferences, help you write a birth plan and get to know one another to determine how I can best serve you during your baby's birth. On a second/third visits we practice comfort measures/techniques, practice contractions, discuss second stage pushing techniques and end with a fear release. I encourage my clients to e-mail or phone me with questions as they arise throughout your pregnancy. I'm your doula from the moment you engage me as such, and you can always reach out to me. As labor begins, I will be with you from the moment you feel you need help until about two hours after the baby is born. I can assist with various comfort meausures and suggestion positions changes which may help to facilitate a quicker and more comfortable birth. After the birth, I will help you get started with breastfeeding end ensure that your answers have been met and you are resting comforably.
