tripadvisorWe've been in several times to hear friends perform acoustic music for their Open Mic Nite. The place certainly has a throwback pub feel, with all the stuff on the walls and the peanut shells on the floor. Drinks are fairly priced and service was personable.
MoreLoved it here! Great atmosphere great music the only thing I didn’t like was that it was so hard to get to the bathroom because it was overcrowded. Get here earlier or you will be waiting in a line. Drinks are priced accordingly! Get yourself an Irish car bomb when you go here.
MoreThis is a great little Irish pub with indoor and outdoor seating. If you like Irish stew, meatloaf, guiness ... this is your place. The outdoor seating area is hip, a great place to have a meal and people - watch.I was surprised at how yummy their steak salad tasted. Lettuce, goat cheese, steak, roasted peppers, balsamic vinegar dressing ... so good!!!
MoreWe stopped in at Lucky Joes for the first time this past weekend. We had heard from others on the street in the past that they have good fish sometimes so we wanted to try. The inside is an all wooden interior with peanut shells everywhere on the floor. If you like shelled peanuts this will appeal right away to you, otherwise you will not like the inside feel of this place and think that it appears quite dirty. I enjoyed the peanuts myself The waiters are young women in college and did not seem to love the place as it was hard to hear and understand them so they need to speak up and be confident in themselves. We have a couple of fish dinners and pulled pork Mac & Cheese. The fish was not bad and tender and the battered crust has some flavor seasoning which was different but good. All in all it was an OK experience but I don't feel lucky and not planning to visit again until I try all the other many establishments in town to see what really makes Lucky Joes different themselves from other traditional college town bars, other than their drink specials.
