Located just southeast of downtown Naples, the mangrove estuary at the Rookery Bay Reserve harbors a boatload of biodiversity and is home to hundreds of bird species and other endangered wildlife. In an effort to promote environmental care and awareness, the reserve provides 45-minute educational programs on various topics such as natural history, native plants and herpetology. Additionally, there are also a number of programs specifically geared towards kids and they're usually free.

tripadvisorExcellent destination for families. A touch and see element to the center. Great displays about the nature elements of Rookery Bay. Excellent employees who are very knowledgeable and friendly. Great easy hikes on the nature paths that are little kid friendly (even with strollers). Low cost for entrance, but big payoff once you explore the center. Nature hikes capture the different habitats and plant areas that surround the center.Easy parking and easy to access off 41.
MorePLeasant tour with docent Orlando-he is very knowledgable and welcoming. Interesting to learn about the native landscape. Bonus was seeing a red headed woodpecker. Plenty to see inside in the nature center
MoreWe spent almost an hour here. They have a two story building to explore exhibits and also watch a couple short films. We walked outside on the overlooked but didn’t explore more due to mosquitos.
MoreWe saw 39 different types of birds!!! It was great! Tour guides were very informative! I would definitely highly recommend
MoreRobyn, our guide, was extremely knowledgeable and professional. We highly recommend doing Forest Bathing. Very calming.
