The cemetery looked mowed and in decent condition. The problem is, it seems to be a homeless encampment. There were 2-3 obviously homeless guys who had their blankets and belongings laid out, occupying the area. I was uncomfortable even getting out of my car since I was by myself. I turned around and drove back down the narrow road. I was disappointed that I couldn't go in to pay respects. This is terribly disrespectful to the soldiers who are buried here. Something needs to be done, Chattanooga!

Sucked that there was a guy inside the walled and gated area with his pit bull. A guy near by warned me as I started to open the gate to enter. I called the police.

This site is definitely off the beaten path and likely not much is done to maintain it. It is the final resting place of many Confederate Soldiers. There are a few markers of individuals and as a group at large. There is also a voice box that tells the story of the men as well as the cemetery. The politics of the Civil War aside, each of the men buried here were executing selfless service and duty to their communities and deserve the honors.

Way off the beaten path - Free to see the site Very rough looking road to get there - which is how you will know when you are there. 15 - 30 minutes stop near the interstate 75 exit

Beautiful setting. Voice recorded message tells you the story of this cemetery. An important piece of our country’s history.
