This is not The Trump Doral. Also the blue Lagoon at the Trump Doral is a beautiful oasis. The Hotel is gorgeous and well maintain.. I have no idea what this review is about. because all the pictures here have nothing to do with the resort.

We have stayed at a Tru Hotel in the past (in NY) and we were on the fence and willing to give it another try. There were several things that added up during this which will result in us not staying with the chain again. - At check-in they did not have our reservation, which was made and confirmed months in advance. Eventually it was found, after we showed documentation. -Upon arrival there was hammer drilling in the lobby and almost impossible to hear while checking in-The king bed reserved 2+mo ahead of time was not available and received two queens. -At check-in staff did not provide any information about where amenities were - pool, directions to room or parking. We had to return to ask about parking to ensure we didn’t get towed. At that time we were informed of the $15/night and given a pass. -After we asked where the pool was, our key did not work. We returned to front desk and they indicated that it was broken and to reach around- this would have been helpful to know when we were asking directions to the pool. There were also no towels available- but it was a very nice sitting area with grills and view. -Finally, the hotel has a horrendous smell. This caused me an instant migraine. At night when the AC was on the smell came through the vents. This made me so sick I also booked another hotel. If you are sensitive to fake/strong/chemical smells I would advise you stay elsewhere.

I was disappointed in this hotel. It has not been maintained well. Headboards were torn , shower head was rusted, tv was extremely hard to turn on and door was very difficult to open. The staff was very responsive but not much they can do except renovation. It’s close to airport and good restaurants. It it were updated it would be a five. I paid for a bay view but windows were dirty from rain that it wasn’t worth the extra money.

The blue lagoon is a big stretch of water in Miami, very close to MIA airport and not that far from the center. The area hosts many hotels around, we were at the Hampton Inn and it's a pretty nice and cheaper area to lodge than in downtown or in Miami Beach. Likewise, almost all hotels here offer their free shuttle bus from MIA. Out of this there's no tourist interest.

The whole area around the Blue Lagoon is spacious, relaxing and nice, an oasis of peace in a manic city. But as an attraction nothing special
