tripadvisorCosts are similar to Broadway. Great variety of performers. Parking is a hassle in the lots and the crowds are a challenge in the lots. If youw ant to see the performers, pay the big bucks and sit close. Nose bleed seats are not worth the cost, you can't see a thing.
MoreAudio was TERRIBLE!!! It was a musical that told a story. The music was so loud that you could not hear the words that were being sung making it a bit hard to follow. On top of that the teleprompter was too small to see from the balcony. But even if I could see it, I would've missed so much of the action. It was truly a horrible experience and unless this was a one time oooops, I would never go back or recommend this venue to others. HOWEVER - the actors were great and their voices wonderful. Of what I could follow, timing was spot on and jokes were funny! I asked others around me and they were having the same problem with hearing the words. There was absolutely NO reason for the music to be so loud.
MoreSound system and audio very poor for the play. All people in our group had trouble understanding the actors in the drama To Kill a Mocking Bird. People we met at intermission said same
MoreHaving attended several different performances at Wharton I can only say that we are VERY fortunate to have such a facility available in East Lansing. When Wharton first opened several years ago it was billed as the most acoustically perfect theater in existence. I now use hearing aids so I expect that the sound system may have changed. I have several vision impaired friends and some performances (if interested, contact Wharton to learn more) are described through a headset for those guests. We can enjoy the performances together. Anyone planning attend should plan ahead and learn what is scheduled for the season.
Morethe site I purchased my ticket picture said I was on the main floor but the ticket I got was for upper tier bad sound up there I didn't enjoy the musical because of that
