My family and I were passing through Stillwater and we stopped at the Blockhouse. The views of the Hudson River from this site are breathtaking and serene. The Blockhouse has some old artifacts and items used in the 18th Century against the armies that would come from the river. This is a very quiet place and takes you back to nature.

If you happen to be driving through Stillwater, you will notice the Stillwater Blockhouse, which is located along the main (Hudson) avenue and has fine views of the Hudson River. When it's open, it offers interesting displays of local history. At all times, it offers great views and is a very relaxing place to take short break on whatever journey you are on. It's also the focal point of many community activities in this historic town on the Hudson River.

Needed a quick recharge and this spot was amazing! The views and scenery are breathtaking. Love pure clean nature at its finest!

We didn't plan this stop, just happened to notice the blockhouse as we were driving through town. It is a small display with nice views of the river.
