Delaware Park Park

The jewel of Buffalo's park system, this public space was one of six designed by famous landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted in the late 19th Century. The Delaware Park's 376 acres (152 hectares) include one of Buffalo's three public golf courses (Delaware Park Golf Course), plus tennis courts, baseball diamonds, the Buffalo Zoological Gardens and it hosts the popular Shakespeare in the Park Festival every summer. The Rose Garden makes a perfect setting for a romantic walk when Spring arrives and in the winter, bring your skis and do some cross-country skiing over the demarcated trails.

Delaware Park is massive and has many different ecosystems to take your pick. The most popular part of the park is likely the area of Hoyt lake where there are an abundance of short trails and the area is adjacent to the museum. This park intersects with many historic neighborhoods of Buffalo, so you can easily walk in on foot. There are other areas that include sports fields, tennis courts, the Buffalo Zoo, and events at various times of the year. Feeling hungry and you can go for a bite at the Terrace. Try to grab a table by the water.

Anything that has to do with nature I can appreciate. It's a big park with beautiful views, well kept and so peaceful. I went on a Friday afternoon and it wasn't crowded at all. Good for a walk or just to sit and enjoy the views.

This is a beautiful park In Buffalo. We were here for a college Cross-Country race on Saturday, 10/16. Unfortunately it was a little chilly and rainy but still a very nice park. There is a golf course and a zoo in the boundary of this park, but we didn’t have time nor was the weather conducive to those activities.A couple pictures of the park and shots during the race ate attached.
