MoreThis clean and charming hotel is handily located down the street from Langloss auto repairs. If you break down near Pueblo, those guys will do you right and get you back on the road . Meanwhile, enjoy the simple, old-time ambience of this Route 66 classic.
MoreI am currently staying here on an extended stay (a week or two) and the area says its probably not a very good place to stay but I went in to talk about it and check it out and the staff are very helpful and friendly and the prices are great and upon entering my room it was way better then expected they are old-fashioned but very adorable and have a lot of character, if you want to stay somewhere where it's not traditional and you like old fashioned...you will love this place but there is no phone in the rooms and its not five star clean but they do clean them pretty well its just an older place so carpets could use a good shampooing maybe just new carpet altogether and beds are coil spring so not the most comfortable but not to bad but its comfortable for me not like a traditional hotel it's more a little studio apartment/cabin, so far I like it but its only day one of my extended stay and if things change ill update this post and if there is no updates then I stand by my response.
MoreThe Coronado is a refreshing break from the motel chain same-o same-o. Off the beaten path, the whole property has obviously been lovingly maintained for decades and someone with an artistic hand has enhanced walls, doorways, windows, and walls ... inside and out. (When I walked into my room, I thought someone had left the window open, then realized the window was painted onto the wall.) The thick adobe-style walls enveloped me in silence, even with a family with several very young children next door. The vigas (open ceiling beams) and all the woodwork was varnished to a high gloss and the room was immaculate. (The last sheet of paper on the toilet roll had been folded like the linen table napkins in a fine restaurant.) Across the street is a nice walking path around a lake. Friendly service. And all for a price out of the 1970's. Don't expect the Hyatt or the Hilton, but if a small room and quirky, old-fashioned fittings and furnishings don't put you off, enjoy a stay you'll remember. I'll be back.
MoreMy wife and I stayed at the Coronado Motel one snowy December night on our way north. I like the retro look and feel of the inn, but it was a bit chilly. We didn't use the kitchen, so I can't comment on that. Pros: Friendly innkeeper, nice paintings on the wall - literally on the wall, high powered furnace. Cons: No internet in our room, bed was cramped (full size, not queen). But I'd stay there again, because I like independently-owned motels. And the price was great.
