The Cleveland Metroparks are the jewels of the city. The South Chagrin reservation is a fantastic, large park filled with lots of picnic areas, trails of all difficulties and interesting sites. It’s all focused on the Chagrin River winding its way through the hilly, forested landscape. Henry Church Rock —— a carving by an early denizen —- is a highlight.

Most of this gorgeous park lies in the Chagrin River Valley, although part climbs up the hill. Lots to do here from hiking trails to ball fields and lots of picnic places. Beautifully landscaped.

Great paths and variety of walks and never overly crowded. Ample parking in differing locations so you can vary the walks.

A fun place to go anytime of the year. Although I usually visit South Chagrin Reservation in the spring/summer/fall to walk I decided to go today after some snow showers. I think I was the only person in the park. Quiet with a small amount of snow covering the ground. I couldn't make it all the way to Squaw Rock because of the icy path, but the river and small falls were beautiful.
