tripadvisorThis is a steep hike, but it’s only about a mile long. Would recommend to see some awesome red rocks. You can climb up them too. Not many people were here, which is nice to get away from the crowds. If needed, take your time climbing up.
MoreWent hiking here with our seven year old. He was capable of completing this hike. It did get a little anxiety ridden when we got closer to the top. I recommend if the child has impulse control and good listening skills. This is not a run up run down trail for kids but the views are magnificent. Hidden gem!
MoreFun hike, moderate by Colorado standards. Well marked trail, no water but a nice Farmer's Creek, since 1892, on the way up. Nice views from Boulder to Denver and Longmont. Shady places to stop and enjoy the view out of the 90 degree sun. Parking can be challenging on weekends which limits the number of hikers.
MoreAt the foot of Boulder Canyon, nice stream running through it, often quiet, nice place for a picnic or family gathering
MoreThis is a quick and easy way to get a sense of what the red rocks are all about. And it is also a good way to make a short hike into a nice long hike if you care to keep going up the hill. We have taken our young grandchildren here to get them accustomed to altitude and have never been disappointed. A bit of luck needed to be sure about parking -- but during the week we have not had a problem.Pay off is a chance to swim in the Boulder Creek -- so this is a double pleasure.
