My wife and I enjoy coming here in the early morning. We'll pick up a breakfast burrito at a local store, then spend an hour or so observing wildlife.

This lake is is a beautiful spot with nice walking trails and a pleasant, quiet lake. A nice place to spend even an hour.

Watson Lake is a small, quiet lake with several picnic benches, a nice walking path, and breathtaking scenery. Not usually busy, as it is a bit hidden, and only about 15 minutes from Old Town Fort Collins.

This is a fun small lake at the base of Rist Canyon. Has a fish hatchery that's fascinating for smaller kids and you can feed the trout and watch them in the fish runs. Then further behind is Watson Lake....picnic areas, wonderful fishing lake for smaller kids who are just learning. Flat right up to the end of the lake...no cliffs or huge rocks to fall off of!! Road all the way around so you can go for a walk for just sit on the bank and revel in the wonderful mountain smells and breezes.

This is a unknown little gem of an area with a great walking path mostly around the lake with picnic tables and a peaceful lake set at the base of a beautiful red rock hill. Just a beautiful, serene place to take a short walk or just soak in the scenery.
