This is an absolute gem in the community! Outdoor concerts in a beautiful amphitheatre, the best musical performances put on by area high students, and tons of community activity going on here.

The Blue Stem Prairie Preserve OR The Blue Stem Prairie OR the Blue Stem Scientific and Natural Area is NOT a concert venue. It is an area of native prairie grasses in MN that is co-managed by the Nature Conservancy and the MN DNR. People are some how confusing it with the Blue Stem Center for the Arts. So please do not come to out to the prairie expecting to find an amphitheater or concerts!

First went to Bluestem three years ago and have been coming back ever since. Take in three of four concerts a year. The sound can't be beat and there is not a bad seat in the house. I also enjoy the food vendors at Bluestem it's a great way to spent an evening.

An amazing outdoor amphitheater on the Red River with great stage and outdoor seating as well as a conference center that can be used for meetings, weddings, etc. The location and stage are by far the most impressive elements of this concert Venue. As a backdrop of the music, you can enjoy the sights and sounds of nature as sun sets making it great for any music concert. It is just south of Moorhead off 8th street which is busy with lots of bars and restaurants to be visited before or after the event. I-94 is also close by making for easy interstate access if you are traveling from out of town. Downsides: 1. there is only one entrance and exit into Bluestem so leaving can be slow process as it bottlenecks very quickly pending on where you parked. Part of the charm of this place is that there are only a few paved parking lots which makes it feel like an oasis of nature when you go to this venue. 2. Size of the amphitheater is small limiting the types of concerts available. they have reserved seating as well general seating but it is still limited. Long term plans may include extending the back of seating area to just a slightly inclined grassy area to allow for more concert goers.

We drove from the Twin Cities to see Ween perform here. We weren't sure what to expect, but the quality of the venue was a very pleasant surprise. It helped that the weather was excellent. The stage and setting were beautiful, very convenient to the interstate, while feeling farther out. All seats provide a good view. Staff were very professional, helpful and friendly.
