tripadvisorI went to visit the Oswald Rooming House Museum a few days ago. I spent two days visiting as many JFK related sites as possible in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. This stop was by far the most informative. We are generally informed of the JFK narrative. This was an exploration into Lee Harvey Oswald. The curator of the museum is Miss Pat Hall. She is a charming lady with first-hand knowledge and acquaintance of Mr. Lee (as she refers to Lee Harvey Oswald). Miss Pat's grandmother operated the rooming house when he lived there. Miss Pat spent time after school at the house with her siblings during that time as well. Walking into the house is taking a step back into 1963. The decor and furniture are as it was and full of memorabilia from the events that occurred. There are 2 ways to see the house. You can be part of an organized tour and go and spend about 5-10 minutes and then move on to the next stop on the tour. The other way is to make an appointment by calling 469-261-7806 and schedule a personalized tour with Miss Pat herself. There is a cost of $40 per person but you sit in the original living room on the original furniture, and you can spend up to 2 hours speaking with Miss Pat and asking question. Her perspective is unique, and so fun to talk to. For any JFK assassination junkie like me, this is well worth your time.
MoreThis was such a great experience, getting to sit and talk with Mrs. Pat for a couple hours, it was like sitting and talking with your grandmother. She had such interesting stories about her grandmother and mother and her own interactions with LHO. We learned alot about the events of 11/22/63 and it was neat to be in the actual house as it was that day. I highly recommend this tour if you are in Dallas!
MoreI booked a private tour and spent about 2 hours with Ms. Pat Hall. She is a very welcoming host. She showed me all around the house, encouraged me to take pictures, and was a delightful conversation. Whether you subscribe to the same assassination theories as her or not, she clearly knows her stuff, and is fun to speculate with. I would consider this a must for anyone with an interest in Lee Harvey Oswald/JFK assassination. Being able to talk with Pat about her personal experiences with Oswald and the aftermath of the assassination was incredible.FYI—You can pay with cash or card during the tour. Call the number on the front lawn sign (seen in several pictures on TripAdvisor) and set up a tour.
MoreVery much enjoyed this portion of our tour. Ms. Pat was amazing. My boys loved her. Very personable. My family wants to take another trip and just spend time there. Amazing and informative
MoreThis was a stop on the JFK Assassination tour we took. The owner, Ms. Pat, was very nice and allowed the guide to show our group around the common area living room and dining room and a small bedroom where Lee Harvey Oswald stayed. It was a very small room, not much bigger than a walk-in closet.
