tripadvisorI did the Rocky Philly Tour last week with my fiancée (Proposed on the Philly steps) son and daughter, and over a week later I’m still buzzing from it.I’m a massive Rocky fan and have followed Mike on Instagram for a few years, so this was something I’d really been looking forward to. Unfortunately, our day didn’t get off to the best start — but through absolutely no fault of Mike’s.We were travelling from New York to Philadelphia on the FlixBus and had arranged for Mike to pick us up at around 9:15am. What should have been roughly a two-hour journey ended up taking about three and a half hours. We were sat on the bus panicking because we knew we were going to be well over an hour late. When we eventually arrived, Mike was completely understanding. Obviously, he had a schedule to work to, so unfortunately our delay meant the tour had to be shortened. But boy, did Mike deliver with the time we had left.We visited so many locations from the Rocky films. Sitting on the steps of Rocky’s house at 1818 and listening to Mike tell us stories. Complete with his Rocky voice — was a real highlight for me. We visited the Italian Market, Mikes Gym (with the subway background noise) Adrian and Paulie’s graves and loads of other filming locations along the way. What really impressed me was Mike’s knowledge of the smaller details. He didn’t just take us to the obvious tourist spots; he pointed out little locations and moments from the films that could easily be missed. Even as a huge Rocky fan, there were things he reminded me of or brought back to life. We’d also hoped to visit Father Carmine’s church, but there was a school event taking place so we couldn’t go in. Again, that took absolutely nothing away from the experience.Mike’s energy, quirkiness and genuine passion for Rocky make the tour. It doesn’t feel like someone simply driving you around filming locations — he clearly LOVES this stuff, and that enthusiasm is infectious. He even had the Rocky hat and the famous bouncy ball in the car, things I’d previously messaged him about on Instagram! One of the best things to come out of the day is that my daughter Frankie, who wasn’t the huge Rocky fan that I was beforehand, has now started watching the films and has become a fan herself. That probably says everything about the experience. My one piece of advice for anyone travelling from New York specifically to do this tour: give yourself plenty of time. If I did it again, I’d travel to Philly early in the morning and book an afternoon tour, or even stay the night before. Don’t make the mistake we did of relying on the bus arriving exactly on schedule. We lost around an hour and a half of valuable tour time, and I’d have loved to have experienced everything Mike originally had planned for us.Despite that, Mike took the time we had and made it something incredibly memorable. If you love Rocky, do this tour.Absolutely loved it. Thanks, Mike — you made a lifelong Rocky fan very happy.
MoreI cannot begin to explain the amazing experience we had on this 3-hour tour!!! Mike is THE aficionado of anything Rocky. He knows the city inside and out, and will take you to all the popular spots you'd expect, but much, much more. He has stories and information you can't just pull from a google search, and it leaves you appreciating and loving the Rocky franchise even more. He's very polite, personable, and a true devotee to the inspiration and legacy Rocky brings to all fans. I've never taken any other Rocky tour, but it's hard to imagine anyone can top the 'deep dive' Mike gives you into the films and Stallone himself. And as an added bonus, when you listen to him speak, it's like you're in the room with Balboa himself!!! My brother and friend were so glad we chose him to do the tour, and we will whole-heartedly recommend this to anyone.
MoreHad this tour on Monday 14th of September 2026. Had the meeting up with Mike at the windsor suites hotel at 9 a.m. and from the first minute this man lets you feel so comfortabel in his nice van. You feel from the start that this man is full of passion about Rocky just as i do and for me it clicked immediately. I whas hanging on these mans lips, the details he can tell is from a man who knows the real Rocky...the places you visit are still vey recognizable. And he shows you even pictures to make the matches easy...if you want the tour, this guy is the person you need as your guide for 1000%
MoreMy wife & I came in from Montreal to visit Philadelphia and being a huge Rocky and Stallone fan since I was a kid, doing a Rocky tour was always on my bucket list.Mike is so engaging and his passion and knowledge for the Rocky films made the tour an absolute pleasure. Visiting all the filming locations and hearing Mike’s behind the scenes stories brought a heartfelt connection to the films. Mike gave me a deeper appreciation for the films and if you get a chance to see his documentary, The Pretender, he’s a real inspiration just like Rocky. Follow your dreams, never give up and if you do what you love, you will live a full life. This tour is a must for all Rocky fans!! Thank you once again Mike for making the tour such an incredible experience. Best tour ever!
MoreMy wife and I had the absolute pleasure of taking the Rocky Tour with Mike Kunda, and it became one of the highlights of our honeymoon.Of course, seeing the famous Rocky locations was incredible, but what made this tour truly unforgettable was Mike himself. His own personal journey and connection to Rocky were just as fascinating as the tour itself. You quickly find yourself completely immersed in his story, and his passion is contagious.Mike shared so many behind-the-scenes stories and details about Sylvester Stallone and the Rocky films that we had never heard before. We already loved the movies, but after spending the day with Mike, we left with an even deeper appreciation for them. We honestly didn't think that was possible. The tour also takes you through parts of Philadelphia that we would never have discovered on our own. We felt completely safe the entire time, and it gave us a chance to experience the city from a local's perspective. On top of that, Mike is simply an amazing person. He's kind, funny, genuine, and incredibly easy to talk to. We laughed throughout the tour, and by the end it genuinely felt like we had spent the day with a lifelong friend rather than someone we had just met. He arrived exactly on time, and there was no doubt it was him—the Philly Film Tours vehicle with the logo made it easy to spot.Everything about this experience exceeded our expectations. It's something we will remember for the rest of our lives, and we truly hope our paths cross with Mike again someday.Thank you, Mike, for an unforgettable day in Philadelphia. We couldn't recommend this tour more highly!
