We took three day tours with this company and each was different and excellent. All were small groups (less that 10) and very intimate. The guides ( Mark, Robert and Paul) were amazing. They were all knowledgeable about the topography and geology of each area as well as the history behind the sites we were viewing. This was very apparent when Robert was taking us through Grand Canyon National Park and whn Paul took us through the Arizona Capitol Building. These tour are wonderful and for a first time visitor essential to get a feel for the area.

We booked Detours for a private day trip to Sedona and were very lucky to get Paul as our tour guide. He was amazing! The weather did not cooperate and was rainy and very cold but Paul completely redeemed the day! He was so pleasant, knowledgeable, friendly and funny! He was very service oriented and was tuned in to our needs. He even brought extra jackets from home for our jeep tour of Sedona which ended up being very useful. He also added unique insights and facts along the two hour road trip from Scottsdale to Sedona that made the time pass quickly. He was a great sport about taking pictures and wanted to make our trip memorable. It was truly a personalized, wonderful day thanks to Paul. We had a wonderful time in Sedona and would ask for Paul again without hesitation!

Tempe, Arizona is about a 4-hour drive from the Grand Canyon. It's interstate about 80% of the way, but on twisty/turny/mountain terrain. Drove it once, first time to Tempe, and SWORE I would never do that again! Detours is one of several companies in the Phoenix metro area that does day tours. They're not the least expensive, but they provide the best bang for the buck. We were picked up at our hotel at 6:30am, and retrieved the rest of the passengers at various other hotels in the Phoenix area. Our guide/driver, Mac(k), was WONDERFUL. He was a fountain of information, about the flora/fauna, the canyon, the Indian tribes that were in the southern Arizona area when the white settlers arrived, and answered numerous questions from his passengers with patience and tolerance. We selected lunch from a menu that had something for everyone, and when the sandwiches appeared (when we stopped briefly in Sedona) they were HUGE, and absolutely delicious, complete with chips and a drink. Although it's a long drive up (and back), we made enough comfort stops to suit everyone. Time at the El Tovar part of the canyon was limited (about an hour), but made several other stops along the south rim for picture taking. WE EVEN SAW AN ELK GRAZING ALONGSIDE THE ROAD (and paused long enough to get pictures out the van windows). Stopped at an Indian trading post on the final leg home...total tour time about 12 hours, and back in time for dinner. There were three ladies in our party, one who had taken this tour with me previously, and one for whom it was a brand new experience. All of us thoroughly enjoyed it, and strongly recommend Detours, and especially Mac(k), who was a delight.

Booked a platinum tour to Bryce Canyon, and our guide Marty was wonderful. Could not have asked for a more knowledgeable, fun loving person, he fit right in with our crazy group. Set the tour up knowing our limitations and we loved every minute of it. He definitely went above and beyond. Would recommend this company for any tour but must say, the private tours are better. Thanks again Marty and Detours!!

We took a tour to the Grand Canyon while staying in Scottsdale. We really enjoyed the stops along the way. The scenery on the trip as well as the destination were breathtaking. The only down side to our experience was our driver/tour guide. He rushed us at every stop and only have us very minimal time at each place. I understand keeping up good timing because of such a long trip but his actions were ridiculous. We were 2 minutes late getting back to the bus and he was along us. He shoved me onto the bus several times. He was driving very erratically. He would beep his horn when behind someone slower than we were traveling and when it was getting dark, he would flash his lights to make people move out of the way. He passed multiple vehicles and was traveling extremely too fast for he type of can we were in. He made a few comments that were very racist. He referred to the Navajo Reservation as waste land and made a comment that he was going to have to try some fried chicken when he visits Atlanta. We had a chance to take a helicopter tour through the Grand Canyon and he wouldn't let us wait the 5 minutes for our video of our experience to be recorded. We had to have it sent home through mail. I would recommend a tour, however, not with our guide Rick. The company did reach out to us and offered us a free tour with their company upon our return to the area. We will definitely give them another try in the future and hopefully will have a better experience.
