Yesterday I sat down on the outdoor patio of this hotel. A hostess/receptionist came outside and told me I couldn’t sit there because I wasn’t a hotel guest. I apologized and was already getting up to leave. While I was leaving, a homeless man walked by and asked me for money. The employee immediately started treating him horribly, aggressively telling him to leave and stop bothering people. When he responded to her, she started humiliating him, saying that his mother must be proud of him for being homeless and that she wished his mother had swallowed him so he wouldn’t exist.I couldn’t believe what I was hearing, so I stepped in and told her there was absolutely no reason to treat another human being that way. Instead of behaving professionally, she turned her anger toward me.She told me to shut up, called me Mexican and told me to GO BACK TO MY COUNTRY. When I pointed out how unprofessional and disgusting her behavior was, she then told me that she wished my mother had swallowed me too. ( I’m 18 years old)I was honestly shocked. I have never seen someone working in hospitality behave with this level of cruelty, racism and disrespect toward people. What makes this even worse is that a manager was there and could hear what was happening, yet did absolutely nothing. She didn’t intervene, she didn’t apologize, and she didn’t stop the employee.Whether someone is homeless, Mexican, Colombian, American, rich, poor, a hotel guest or simply walking down the street, nobody deserves to be humiliated like this. Working at a hotel does not make someone superior to a homeless person, and it certainly does not give an employee the right to make racist comments and tell someone to “go back to their country.”The way this employee treated that homeless man was already disgusting. The moment she brought my perceived nationality into it and told me to leave the country, it became even more unacceptable. This was one of the most disgusting displays of racism, classism and complete lack of professionalism I have personally witnessed. The fact that management apparently witnessed it and allowed it to continue makes the entire situation even worse.Management should seriously investigate what happened and ask themselves whether this is the kind of person they want representing their hotel. No human being deserves to be treated this way.

Nice little hotel. Close to green line tube station and walkable distance to Boston Common and main attractions. Complimentary coffee in the morning is a bonus. Only downside is that could hear people above us moving around and the mattress although comfortable was uneven and could probably do with changing but very nice in all

Just stayed a 3-night weekend here. The back bay location is nearly perfect for easily experiencing the best of Boston. The value for the $ is location. Many great bars and restaurants in the area as well as the main Back Bay transportation station and the Green Line T stop couldn't be closer. Cute coffee/pastry place in hotel (free coffee and croissant) and a cafe next door with good mediterranean influenced breakfast and lunch. Stayed in a Queen room with a window but the view was a very narrow alley and so the window let in so little daylight that it was useless. Room was extremely small even by big city standards - bathroom was nearly 2/3 the size of the room portion. Bed was comfortable and shower was very nice. Room would not be cooled to below 70 degrees but was good enough. This is a small, 40 room boutique hotel. Very clean and maintained every day. Even with the very small, fairly dark room, this hotel was definitely worth the $ for all the aforementioned reasons. We were very happy with the experience

Plus side - Fantastic location for our stay. The staff were very friendly and really helpful. The room was clean. A light self service breakfast of coffee / tea and a small croissant included. The adjoining cafe served tasty and keenly priced food for the area. Minus side - the room was pretty expensive considering the bed was small for two people and the room was quite dingy. The window overlooked a brick wall - fine but even with the lights on at all times it was still dingy. The air conditioning was quite noisy. Water bottles were provided for the first night but then not replenished for free. We have stayed in bigger and better rooms in Boston for less but overall the location and staff made it a good experience. Might stay again.
