The area surrounding the gavel is currently under construction so we weren’t able to get closer than the sidewalk. We were here for about 2-3 minutes total. There is some street parking, but we just threw on our hazards and stepped out to check it out. We went on a Thursday morning since we were in the area and no one but construction workers were there.

a quick stop for photo op is a must. it was very cool to see up close and was well maintained. my son is a defense attorney! i had to see it! lol

The sheer sight of the world’s largest gavel made me realize the omnipotence of judiciary! I did not know that this structure was in downtown Columbus. I happened to see it while I was on the bus and then made a stop to get a closer look. Standing in front of the reflecting pool and looking at this gavel was just amazing! I stood there in awe and admiration! The gavel is made of stainless steel and watching its reflection in the pool is a great experience. There is a large seating area there.

Whenever one is visiting Columbus Ohio one should not miss the opportunity to see the World's largest Gavel as if I am not mistaken one will not get to see this anywhere in the world!

We were just heading towards the direction of the river and ended up here. The gavel is quite large and the area around it is also quite nice. The courthouse is located just beside it. There is a path that goes from this area to the Scioto walkway by the river.
