tripadvisorFrom a distance the water is blue and inviting however if one tries to stop for a closer look, currently there is no more than five spots for cars to stop legally. After several tries, we did manage to acquire one of the precious spots however our anticipation was not rewarded with the view we thought we would get.The water is murky and debris filled, in the surrounding park in atrocious condition. Buildings are falling apart, written on, hollowed out-- dilapidated, rickety picnic benches are strewn about in tall grass clearly not used for sometime.A rating of two was because we saw ducks, and that’s pretty much all I can say about that
MoreUsed to be a great place to fish.. Now, to many just hang out there, blasting music, drinking, doing drugs, leaving trash and obviously can't the sign that saysArea closed after sunset EXCEPT for fishing The local police used to come through and enforce that.. Now, They drive on through.. If they even show up at all.Very upsetting to see such a decline to the beauty of the place.
MoreThis lovely pond/park is a lovely place to spend an hour or two fishing or kayaking on the lake, as well as hanging out to admire the water. It's not a humongous park, but there's enough parking and it's more mellow than some of the bigger state parks, which can become really crowded in warmer weather.
MoreIt's a Thurs, just 5 trucks in the lot. Pulled up dropped off the kayaks, parked and we are off.... beautiful when you hug the shore. Saw lots of turtle sunning themselves, some bald eagles ..did most of the lake, a tad harder coming back but still easy. Peaceful and will be back
MoreBack in the day this was THE place to go. No motor boats aloud but you could fish from a row boat or electric motor boat. The swimming was great back in the day and it was a clean place to picnic and swim. Now it's run down and you really can't picnic any longer
