The once beautiful lake is not the same any more—it’s now muddy brown instead of the beautiful blue it used to be. There are no Sandy beaches any more either. We were very disappointed after having my daughter and her family travel here for her birthday weekend so she could spend it at Canyon Lake. VERY disappointed, to say the least.

This resort was amazing, the view of the lake is far more than beautiful, the staff greeted us with open arms and was there at our becking call. This is a place you must visit!

Lake is beautiful. Water clean and cool. Beautiful parks. I have been going there for many years and I love it every time I go.

Lately things have gotten really strict at JBSA Canyon Lake that it's really hard to go out to the park and enjoy time with family and friends. Not only do they require the government cardholder to escort your famy and friends into the park but renting a boat is just as bad. These people follow you around the lake to make sure you are abiding by all the rules and they can terminate your boat rental just for the littlest things (docking offshore, failure to show proper ID, etc). It was never this bad before but now it's not worth all the hassle these people may u go through. Don't recommend JBSA Canyon Lake Park. You are better off going to a public park with less restrictions.
