A Nice Little Rose Garden Near Lake Harriet! On a truly lovely September morning, we walked around Lake Harriet on our visit to Minneapolis. As we walked around the lake, we spied the nearby rose garden, so we took a little detour and checked it out. It's free to enter, and this writer would reckon that you could see the entire garden with its fountain and sundial in twenty minutes, or maybe longer if you are someone who likes to study the names of the roses. One particular name I liked was Easy to Please (see photo). While we were there, a family posed for wedding photos. Other families set up for a little picnic. I am very glad we went here.

Loved the fountains here! We had a nice walk through the gardens. This would be a great place to have a picnic. Lots of people taking homecoming photos here. Surprised at how nice the roses looked so late into the season!

Peaceful rose garden located on the northeast side of Lake Harriet since 1908. Colors weren't as vivid when I visited in late July. Spring may be a better time to experience. Worth a look if you are nearby. You can stroll through here in about 15 minutes.

Peaceful, scenic rose garden just off of Lake Harriet. Also known as Lyndale Park Rose Garden. Phelps Fountain on the north side of garden. Worth a visit-just plan to spend time here-to smell the roses

Average trip. We arrived at approximately 7:30 pm and made our way towards the entrance of the rose garden. The rose garden was on the smaller side, and contained several rows of various types of roses. There was a paved walkway right in the center of all the roses, along with two water fountains. Right across from the rose garden was lake Harriet, which had some great views.Tip: I recommend spending 15 minutes here if you want to have a nice relaxing walk amongst the roses.
