tripadvisorAn quiet and scenic place for a respite or picnic, the Duck Pond (I didn't see any ducks) is easy to find using the UNM campus maps that are posted all over the campus. The Pond is surrounded by a thin cover or trees so one can relax in shade or in the warm sunlight. There are also several large sculptures in the area and a few spots to purchase snacks, sandwiches and drinks to add to a relaxing visit to the Duck Pond
MorePretty nice spot in the middle of the UNM campus. Large trees provide some shelter from midday heat. Lots of ducks and geese, which means lots of poo.
MoreSurprised to see all the ducks & geese in the winter.Locals feed them so they are a lot of them. Different varieties.Nice place to walk
MoreAfter eating lunch at Frontier, we did not have enough time to catch up. We had a lot to talk about. Our parking was paid and enough time to visit the pond. We crossed the street and stayed here for a bit and talked. It is a nice place to relax and visit.
MoreWent to the duck pond after a children's play at Popejoy. It was amazing. When I went to UNM the duck pond was a little pond in the middle of the campus. It is now a series of ponds with seating areas, bridges and water features. I would recommend to anyone, especially those of us who graduated in the 70's and 80's to visit. If I lived nearby this would be my walking place. A great place for out of town visitors.
